Mall of Horror - A Zombie Survival Horror Board Game

Weekly Features

Who says board games are dead? In Mall of Horror you take control of one of three character and work together to survive. Just like in the Romero movies, working together is key. Alliances can be formed and some players might even try and betray your sorry ass. Players move throughout the mall where each room may hold special items or other characters that want to be part of your group. Oh yeah, and the game actually takes place in the famed Monroeville Mall located in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. How fucking cool is that!?

Someone desperately needs to turn this into a video game. Fast.

From the box description:

Everyday, Monroeville Mall will make your life easier!
No kidding! They got me with their ad. I was just looking for some potato chips and beer for the road, so I parked my truck on the huge lots of this state of the art mall lost in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania. 20 minutes to find a spot, no caddy, broken escalators, not a soul in the hallways, no light in the parking… ‘Monroeville Mall, stop by and your life will taste different!’ The guy who wrote this slogan must be a medium. There you go, I will ask those funky looking guys where to find some chips…

In Mall Of Horror, each player takes control of three characters: a blonde, a bad boy and a brute, trapped in a mall invaded by hundreds of hungry zombies. There is only one way to survive: find a temporary safety in areas where the zombies aren’t yet, and forget about values such as solidarity and humanity. Better them than you!

Who will be thrown at the zombies for the survival of the rest of the gang? Who will take over the security H.Q? Who will look for some first aid material? No room for the week, you will negotiate, lie, ally, betray, in one word, you will try to survive!

The game can be played with anywhere from 3 - 6 people and it only takes about an hour or so to finish. For a board game, it’s pretty expensive. $35 here. If you have the cash and friends that’d be willing to play, it’s totally worth it.

Okay, so we can’t have an official Monopoly of the Living Dead. (But we can have a great idea for the box cover art.) But apparently we can have a board game based in a mall where there are zombies to contend with. So it will have to suffice for t…
