Nintendo To Announce New DS This Thursday?

A very reputable Japanese news outlet recently ran a story describing Nintendo’s plans to release a new DS within the next few days. This new DS is said to have larger screens, a built-in camera and the ability to play music, as well as exchange Wii date via SD cards.

From Game|Life:

The online version of the story omits a line that is present in a photograph of the print story, which says that the new model will cost less than 20,000 yen (about $188). The DS Lite costs 16,800 yen ($158) in Japan.

Seeing as this comes from a pretty reputable source and the fact that Nintendo will be holding simultaneous press events in both Tokyo and San Francisco on this coming Thursday, I wouldn’t count this little rumor out.

What do you guys think? Are these new features enough to make you buy another DS?
