Otaku Toy Tuesday: Giant Swords, Fire Kicks, and Half-Naked Furries
Hey, kids! Welcome to Otaku Toy Tuesday! This is where we pick a few of our favorite otaku figure releases and newly-announce pre-orders. This week we have a fantastic piece from Shunya Yamashita, a blaze-kicking little firestorm that’ll conjure up thoughts of 2D fighters from the good ol’ days, and a very racy rendition of everyone’s favorite blue-haired furry, Felicia from the Darkstalkers/Vampire Savior games.

Another Days To Heart 2 1/8 Scale Pre-Painted PVC Figure: Maryan Senpai (Re-run)
This piece is just plain cute and the flaming kick thing going on is just an added bonus. If you could sum up Otaku culture in one figure, this would totally be it. There’s not price for this one yet, but I’m hoping it’s in the $30 range. Anything over $40 might be pushing it. Keep checking here for more details.
The Art of Shunya Yamashita Character Series Vol. 2 Figure: Nasca
While the crotch shot might be a bit much for some, I’m a huge fan of Shunya Yamashita so I really don’t mind. The shading, the colors, the pose, it’s all very well executed. I’ll never be able to afford this one, but I love looking at it. You can pre-order one for yourself over at Play-Asia for about $80 and it’ll ship some time in December.
Excellent Model CAPCOMANIAX 2 Vampire Savior 1/8 Scale Pre-Painted PVC Figure: Felicia
Anything related to Darkstalkers is an automatic win. This Felicia piece is definitely the perviest of the picks this week, but since we’re all about video games, toys, and otaku culture here at ALBOTAS, it seemed like a perfect pic. I always thought Felicia’s outfit looked a tad… uncomfortable. It doesn’t help that the artist caught her in quite an embarrassing pose for this figure. Just check out this view and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
This one’s is up for pre-order at Play-Asia and it’s gonna’ set you back about $80. It should ship later this month.
