First Official Pics Of The New DSi

The earlier rumors of an updated DS with a built-in camera were confirmed at Nintendo’s fall press event in Japan. The new-and-improved DSi features a 3 Megapixel camera on the front, and a video camera in the middle next to the microphone. Although there’s no slot for GBA games, there’s a slot for an SD card which is sure to cause a flood of all new homebrew possibilities. You’ll also be able to store music, video, and pictures as well as edit them with the stylus! The most interesting piece of news is that fact that the new DSi has built-in storage with a web browser so you’ll be able to download games directly onto your DSi by using Nintendo Points (new name for Wii Points) via the DSiWare Shop.

Mother. Fucking. Nuts.

The Japanese Nintendo site has recently unveiled the official pics as well as a few other that are worth checking out.

Check out what the new DS looks like when it’s open after the jump.
