Xbox 360 to get MGS4?

“The worldwide demand for an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 is quite high, and it is something we are currently looking into.” says Konami’s Yoshitaka Arai. It’s no secret that Sony’s PS3 is not nearly as popular as Microsoft’s Xbox 360, so to us it makes perfect sense Konami would be looking into this.

The real question is whether it will be just a ported version with no enhancements or not. If that’s the case, I think it’ll be pointless as most people into the MGS series have probably beaten it already.

“Will MGS4 go to Xbox 360? If pressed, I’d say yes, almost certainly ,” says PSM3 editor Daniel Dawkins, “though Konami may release it as a ‘vanilla’ port with zero enhancements at the same time as they confirm the extended edition for PS3, a bit like MGS3 Subsistence.”

But if this rumor is true and Konami allow Snake to wander to other platforms, we could be seeing a release of the next series on Xbox 360 as well. The way we see it, win-win. Konami gets more sales, fanboys get the game on their favorite platform. Here’s to wishing.
