If you’ve ever wondered if a skateboarding God with a shotgun could take on Cthulhu in a deathmatch, wonder no more. In Scribblenauts for the Nintendo DS, all you have to do is spell out a noun and it appears in the game. Need a trampoline, bulldozer, baseball bat, invisibility cloack or even a dolphin to help you get through a level? Just spell the word and it’s yours. And if that wasn’t awesome enough, each item reacts to its environment realistically. Write the word “fish” then write the word “cat” to watch the cat eat the fish. Write the word “vampire” then write “garlic” to ward him off, or better yet, write “vampire hunter” and watch the bloodsucker turn to dust.
Combine all the above with the fact that you can create your own levels and share them with your friends via Nintendo WiFi and it looks like we have ourselves a must-buy for the DS. I, for one, can’t wait and I’m looking forward to picking this one up as soon as it comes out this fall.
