In conjunction with Japan’s Dents Entertainment the group “Man of Action” is working on a new 26 episode Mega Man series, per THR.

If you haven’t heard of the conclave Man of Action, don’t punch yourself in the face– not many people have. The group of comics and animation vets consists of Joe Casey(Sex) , Joe Kelly (Deadpool), Duncan Rouleau (Big Hero 6) and Steven T. Seagle (Ben 10).

Mega Man remains one of Capcom’s most recognizable and profitable properties from it’s genesis in video games to its presence in contemporary pop-culture spanning nearly three decades. Duncan Rouleau revealed to THR:

The 1990s Mega Man TV series was cool and different than other series targeted at kids during that time. It featured great action, but also brought the laughs. Mega Man is a character that is even more relevant for today’s kids and we are really looking forward to creating something new that still respects the long tradition of the character.

The new series is set for a tentative 2017 debut, coinciding with the character’s 30th anniversary. The project would be the latest in an impressive animation list for the Man of Action group, lynchpin by it’s Academy Award winning film Big Hero 6, and widely popular Ultimate Spider-Man series.
