Trailer for Gun Loco from Square Enix.
This looks… bizarre, to say the least.
Square Enix is touting Gun Loco as “a third-person, sprint-action shooter,” and the press release even goes as far as to say that it “redefines the run-and-gun shooter” where “players must make use of the sprint-action play by running, jumping, ducking and vaulting,”
So, it’s basically Twisted Metal, only with Parkour instead of cars?
Taking place on a remote prison planet where anarchy reigns supreme, this XBOX 360 exclusive will let players chose from a cast of characters and duke it out for ultimate supremacy in 12-player online multiplayer matches.
Aside from the Parkour gimmick, another selling point for this title is the character designs by urban toy designer Kenny Wong, founder of kennyswork, co-founder of Hong Kong-based Brothersfree and co-creator of the cult Brothersworker series of collectible urban designer action figures. Each character Gun Loco was designed hand-scuplted by Kenny himself as a posable action figure before being digitally scanned into the game. How long before Kidrobot steals this idea?
Gun Loco drops some time in 2011 exclusively for the Xbox 360.
