You’re Doing It Wrong
The corpos are quick to cash in on any emerging cultural trends. Just turn on your TV. All the ads were full of cheesy ska music back in the 90’s and 2000’s. Now it’s all hip wannabe indie. So it’s not really surprising that Kmart is cashing in on Internet humor. “Interwebz” and “teh” are at least 5 or 6 years old. The unicorn thing was already done last year by Cartoon Network. I’m not trying to defend Internet humor – I think it’s often a bit “too much” – but I do think it’s funny how squares like Kmart try to shoulder their way into your life by any means possible. Deep, deep discounts, but no shame.
