Skullgirls and Persona 3 FES Hit PSN Today!

It’s a good day for PS3 owners. The 2D fighter Skullgirls is finally available and I’ve heard good things. I got to demo an early build of the game at NYCC last year and it was pretty awesome. It was developed with the hardcore tournament-going community in mind, but I think casual players will enjoy it just as much. If you want to dip your toes in this hot sauce, you can try the demo, or take the full plunge and snag it for $14.99.

As awesome as Skullgirls seems, if you only have the cash for one PSN download this week, Persona 3 FES should be at the top of your list.

I’d avoided this series for YEARS because it looked like too much of a timesink, but I have a shiny new Vita and Persona 3 Portable was only $14.99 two weeks back, so I figured what the hell? Little did I know my mind, guts, and soul would be rocked eight ways to Sunday and back. Calling this game “amazing” would be a vast understatement. I was actually so addicted that I picked up a hard copy of Persona 3 FES last week for $20 at Gamestop for the animated cutscenes and additional story that were sadly left out of the portable version. If I would have known I’d be able to download the same game for $10 a week later, I totally would’ve saved my money.

And in other cool PSN release news, the Journey soundtrack is also available today for $5. If you haven’t played the game yet, you really should. It’s easily one of the best games of the year. Then, when you’re done playing, get the soundtrack because the music is fantastic.
