Per, The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Rodriguez has joined Warner Bros. live action adaptation of “Jonny Quest” as director and co-writer. The latter duties with Terry Rossio, formerly attached, and co writer of “Pirates of the Caribbean; On Stranger Tides”, and “The Lone Ranger.”

So before you lose your shit and think ‘how a guy famous for films rooted in grotesquely stylized violence and ubiquitous shock value, alla “From Dusk till Dawn” and “Planet Terror”, could ever properly tackle the influential family oriented adventure series in film’, remember “Spy Kids”. Don’t worry, I try to forget too; along with “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lava Girl”… {shakes head in shame}. As lame as these films were, they scored huge at the box office, particularly among families.

If you’re unfamiliar with Jonny Quest {not that ‘Venture bros.’ shit, for you millennials} and all its badassery, briefly, the series followed a young boy, Jonny, and his family as they trek the world on adventures in magic, science and mystery. Think of it as a precursor to “Indiana Jones” for kids who couldn’t quite swing the whip yet.

In all, this is definitely a win for Warner Bros. especially with given the Marvel militarization by their Disney competitors. And honestly… I’ll be front row.
