In a few months, the wait will finally be over and Bryan Lee O’Malley’s epic of love, indie rock, and geeky references will finally come to its conclusion. Published by Oni Press, this 248 page 6th volume, entitled Scot Pilgrim’s Finest Hour will drop on Tuesday July 20th for $11.99.
Since July is so freakin’ far away, O’Malley was nice enough to make these desktop and iPhone wallpapers to hold us over.
This poster for Edgar Wright’s (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) live action adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim comics was revealed at Showest 2010 and it’s a little bit on the epic side. Of epic epicness.
I love that they decided to mirror O’Malleys art in the poster. It helps to boost the confidence that they’ll be staying true to the feel of the books.
Here’s the original art for comparison.
Now if they’d just hurry up and release a trailer already.
The trailer for Iron man 2 is all over the internet and you’ve probably seen it a gazillion times already, but here’s my take on it: Jokes, armor, explosions, more armor, Sam Rockwell, more armor, cool effects, Scarlett Johansson making my pants tight, and Robert Downey Jr. being awesome.
Still kinda’ bummed about what’s-his-face replacing Terrence Howard as War Machine, but I have a feeling I’ll get over it and enjoy the ride.

Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malleyretweeted these custom statues of Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers with Scott hiding in her purse, (Remember? In that one part from the comix when that thing happened? Fun times.) made by Ollie_jones.
I’m totally and completely one hundred fucking percent ready for the onslaught of Scott Pilgrim promo junk that’s most likely about to drop with the release of the movie in August. Bring it on me!
Sorry. If you were looking for the trailer for the upcoming Scott Pilgrim movie, you won’t find it in this post. Instead, I humbly offer you this picture of a trailer with the Scott Pilgrim logo on it.
Josh “f+” Pearce is a toy artist who’s done quite a few Spawn Dunnys as commission pieces for collectors. He sent me a link to his blog post featuring all the Spawn Dunnys he’s done – starting with his first one ever(above) and ending with he latest one (at the end of the post) – and asked if I’d share them, so I am.
Warning: Truly sickening work lies ahead. Prepare to be jealous of this dude’s talent.
Marvel just created the most amazing thing in capsule toy dispensing technology since the slap bracelet. Instead of wasting money on capsules that just get thrown away, the toy makers have decided to make each character’s head the capsule!
The character lineup consists of The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. They’re a measly $1 each and only stand at about 2″, but their bodies come packaged inside of their heads and they’re just so freakin’ cute!
When I first saw the above image, I thought that this was some sort of retail packaging for people who don’t have any cool capsule dispensers in their area, but it’s just a display for the vending machines. I’m gonna’ have to bug my local comic shop to get these since they usually have some pretty cool capsule stuff in their machines.
Biomega is a gorgeously drawn, brilliantly told, gory sci-fi masterpiece. It’s Ghost in the Shell meets Akira, with zombies. The second volume can’t come soon enough!

Taking a page straight from the Marvel Team-Up comics, Marvel and Tokidoki will be joining forces for an apparel collection coming out on February 25th.
I started to lose some faith in Tokidoki when I heard about the crossover with the Black Eyed Peas (ugh!), but he’s redeemed himself. This line looks fresh to death.
The dudes and dudettes from FancyPantsGangsters just put out some fun new geey shirts. My favorite is the R2D2 Cage Unit tee pictured above, but there’s also the foreboding apocalyptic Sara Palin shirt and a cool beer-drinkin’ Witchblade by Rick Basaldua from Top Cow Comics.
There’s word on the street that Wes Anderson might direct the next Spider-Man flick. While he’s good at working with intimate dramas, I’m not sure how he’d pull off an action flick, but I guess it’d be pretty close to this spoof by comedian Jeff Loveness. I could just see it now: Bill Murray as Uncle Ben, Anjelica Huston as Aunt May… oh jeeze.
