If your big nerd ass needs a geeky place to plop itself, look no further than the Mega Man E-Tank cushion. Actually, this thing’s just under 12″, so maybe it’d be more appropriate as a nerdy elbow rest. E-Capcom is currently taking pre-orders for this sexy piece of gaming decor for only ¥2,625 ($29.46) and it’ll be shipped on March 31. The bad news is, this is only available in Japan. Fffffuuuuuuuuuuu..
Here’s hoping they release these outside of Japan. My sofa is naked without it.
Tony Nakanari from Mai Hiro recently dropped me a line about these awesome upcoming Spiki Cell Phone Charms produced by Kuso Vinyl. Production just wrapped up and wholesale orders will be available through DKE Toys. The retail price for these bad boys should be around $3 a pop. Totally love the black one.
Hello Kitty Spiki Ninja!
If you’re too impatient to wait for your favorite online retailer or nearest hobby shop to get these in stock, but you still want some cheap Mai Hiro merch, they have these pretty badass sticker packs available right now for only $2,70 over on the Kuso Vinyl shop.
Now would also probably be a good time to point out that the 8″ Ninja Spiki is my favorite vinyl toy that I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
Yesterday I posted this ridiculously awesome backpack and Tirithek was cool enough to post the above backpack and left a comment saying:
Saw a lot of backpacks like that for sale when traveling through some fairly poor Indian communities outside of Chennai a few years back. Kids backpacks that were too small for me to actually put on, with Link or Mario or other characters that I’m pretty sure none of the locals would’ve ever heard of. And mostly with the wrong name, as above. I bought one, just because I thought they were a little bit on the awesome side.
Free Time, Link, aim, and a fruit. Now, I’m no expert, but I think that backpack is high as balls.
The only thing hotter than a geeky chick is a geeky chick with a fun fashion sense. This Nintendo Game Boy Dress by Amber from Sew-Oeno (that’s her posing in the above pic) goes for $60 and Amber will even make one in your size if you contact her.
If you’re the type of geek who likes to let their nerd flag fly, but doesn’t want to wear the same ol’ shirts that anyone can get from their local Hot Topic, check out these super sexy, super limited Odin and Shiva tees for Final Fantasy XIII. Since these shirts are limited in quantity and imported from Japan, they go for $40, but it’s really a small price to pay for being the most stylish nerd in town.
I’ve noticed that the retro gaming aesthetic is becoming increasingly popular in the media and advertising lately. Above is a Nike ad featuring the French footballer Patrice Evra.
As a semi-professional blogger for one of the most amazing geek news sites on the internet, I tend to hand out a few business cards at conventions and press gatherings. One thing I’ve been on a seemingly never-ending quest for is a badass business card holder that says “Yes, I’m a giant nerd, but I mean business!”
After the jump, check out six awesome business card holders by Banpresto inspired by retro games. Three of these are currently available, the other three are pre-orders that won’t ship until March 2010. They’re all limited edition and the most expensive one is only $10.90!
News flash: I’ve never been much of a boob man. I’ve always preferred the lower regions of the female geography — especially a great set of stems. So, you could just imagine my pervy delight when I spotted these $80 Space Invaders tights from Black Milk. Sure, they’re a bit on the expensive side, but ladies, wearing them will probably get you laid. By me. If that’s okay with you. And my girlfriend.
NB’s Closet makes awesome laser cut jewelry perfect for just about any nerd. Some standouts include necklaces featuring dual NES Zappers, the Power Glove, a crazy-faced Game Boy, a chainsaw, and Casio Sk-1 & VL-Tone keyboards. There’s a bunch of different colors available for each design as well; so if a baby blue Power Glove isn’t your thing, you can always opt for a color that better suits your manliness.
Adidias is set to drop a new line of Star Wars kicks later this year and it’s safe to say they look fresh as fuck. Those orange Rebel Alliance hi tops are so sick!
Adidas did a previous Star Wars line and they ran from about $80 – $90 in price. Hopefully these are the same or less.

Italian artist/customizer/designer Riccardo Bucchioni was previously featured on oldschool Albotas in a weekly segment that some of you might remember as Munny Monday (all those old posts were lost in the server switch earlier this year) and he recently shot me word that he designed three new tees based on the tv show Heroes for Funkrush Clothing.
Each fake promotional tee features a mock business from one of 3 Heroes characters. There’s Nakamura Travels, Bennet Cheerleading Camp, and Sylar’s Clock Shop.
Each shirt goes for £20.00 (about $32 US)
The dudes behind Funkrush are also behind Supercombo, makers of the Space Invaders/Darth Vader shirt dubbed Space In-Vader, which has previously been featured on the site. Be sure to check out their blog for updates on all their newest wares.
Heels&Zimerman is a new brand catering towards the design-conscientious skaters out there. They’ve only been around for about a month, but they’re already working a new vinyl figure with designer toy scene heavyweights Muttpop. Muttpop’s own Gobi (the dude who designed Tequila and El Panda) will be designing the figure, based on H&Z’s mascott, The Junior.
This is what The Junior looks like:
Tell me, would YOU like to have this sitting on your toy shelf? I didn’t think so. Nope, not pretty at all.
Now here’s some of Gobi’s sketches for what he’s whippin’ up:
Whew. Way easier on the eyeballs. Keep in mind, these are just rough drafts, so there’s no telling what the final figure’s gonna’ look like. I’ll keep you posted with the details as they come.
Until then, check out The Junior bouncin’ around on a trampoline. He looks cold.
