Toy customizer Donald Kennedy aka KodyKoala made this Mario Mech out of a Merio vinyl figure, a Mario Keychain, and some parts taken from a toy mech from that Avatar movie. The dirty brushed metallic finish is awesome and the bolts are a great touch. Hopefully he does some more Nintendo mechs. Donky Kong, anyone?
About the piece, KodyKoala says:
This was something that my brother and I have been talking about for a while. We thought it would be cool to have Nintendo characters drive a mech of the themselves. This is the first of a series. I love the way this came out, and it is pretty self explanatory how it is made, except for the cockpit, which I got from and Avatar Mech Amp Suit. I am also trying a cool new background as well as better lighting, so the pictures come out crisper.
This past weekend the Wonder Festival took place in Japan and bajillions of new collectible figures were shown off for droves of otaku to oggle over, but one of the standouts was this Micheal Jackson Figma from Good Smile Company. The figure features the King of Pop in his Thriller attire, and his tippy toes bend!!! I just wonder if this will come with any accessories, like maybe his zombie face or a face with the Thriller eyes. Mwuhahahahah!!

Tony Nakanari from Mai Hiro recently dropped me a line about these awesome upcoming Spiki Cell Phone Charms produced by Kuso Vinyl. Production just wrapped up and wholesale orders will be available through DKE Toys. The retail price for these bad boys should be around $3 a pop. Totally love the black one.
Hello Kitty Spiki Ninja!
If you’re too impatient to wait for your favorite online retailer or nearest hobby shop to get these in stock, but you still want some cheap Mai Hiro merch, they have these pretty badass sticker packs available right now for only $2,70 over on the Kuso Vinyl shop.
Now would also probably be a good time to point out that the 8″ Ninja Spiki is my favorite vinyl toy that I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
Toy company NECA has produced a replica of the Big Daddy plushies that the Little Sisters carry around in BioShock 2. The 7″ plush figures, first spotted over on Tenacious Toys, are currently being shipped to retailers and will run for $24.99.
So, a DHL van pulled up in front of Albotas Headquarters yesterday and dropped off a bag full of packages. There were 5 packages in total and each package contained a complete set of a certain designer toy series, but unlike the version available in stores, these packages contain an über rare edition of the figures in a special colorway only available through special promotions like this one.
Hit the jump to see what 60 Gunmetal Edition Little Trickers look like scattered across my dining room floor.
This new gory Micci, dubbed the Bloody Waffle Micci, comes just in time for that certain special holiday. Limited to only 25 pieces, this handpainted 6″ resin figure features a nice glossy red topping and some scrumptious looking butter on top. Consistent with ESC Toy fashion, these pieces will each be signed, numbered, and packaged in the Scarecrow’s box.
Bloody Micci drops February 12 at 11pm PST and each piece will be sold for $90 exclusively through the ESC-Toy shop.
Spotted this handmade Liono plushie over on Etsy. It was made by the awesomely-named Love and a Sandwich and I think you’ll agree that it’s pretty freaking badass.
This adorable papercraft diorama was made by the king of adorable papercraft dioramas, Tubbypaws. You can download it here for your papercrafting pleasure.
Last month, Shawnimals heated things up by introducing Baker Ninja as the first of 12 new handmade plush ninjas for the Ninja of the Month Project. This month, things get a little more chill with Yeti Ninja when he goes on sale this Wednesday aka tomorrow!
Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica recently held their custom Guntmetall Celsius custom show and contest this past Saturday, January 30th and they were kind enough to send over some pics from the event.
These are the contest entries which are all freaking insane. I have no idea how I’d ever pick winners from this talented bunch. You can see the winners and more pics of the entries here.
ESC-Toy LTD. president Erick Scarecrow sent over another one of his teasers, this time for what looks like a new Waffle Micci flavor. Wonder what it could be! Stay tuned for the full reveal coming soon!
Aksys Games just posted these awesomely adorable custom plushies of Noel Vermillion from BlazBlue and Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear by DeviantArt user sengster. These photographs are proof that when awesome 2D fighting games have sex with plush, epic win is born.
Artist Andrew Bell has teamed up with the tech gurus over at Google to turn their little green robot Android mascot to life! Produced by Dyzplastic, the Series 1 (which obviously implies the inevitable Series 2) contains 12 blindboxed designs standing at 3 inches and they even have rotatable heads and arms.
Series 1 will be available later this month on the Dyzplastic site, in an online Android collectibles shop, and in specialty retailers. For wholesale inquiries contact DKE distribution.
Aw shit! The GSC Blog just got updated with this single pic of a Nendoroid of Azusa Nakano (aka Azu-nyan) from the K-ON! anime series.
Alafista.com is reporting that pre-orders will open tomorrow, but I couldn’t find that information anywhere. Google Translator (not the most accurate, I know) says “information will start tomorrow” which I’m assuming means the official Good Smile Co. site will have more pics and details. Either way, I’ll be camping on the major Japanese online hobby shops just to be safe.
Check out the vid below to get the full story behind Azu-nyan’s cat ears and her nickname.
