Daily Graffiti: Viewtiful Silvia

3671589090_4d6cc512c0_b

Somebody somewhere in France did this graffiti of Silvia from the Viewtiful Joe games. It’s not the greatest piece, but it’s the only other Viewtiful Joe street art I’ve ever seen other than this.

Those games were so good. They need to hurry up and make a freaking sequel already. Hideki Kamiya, Viewtiful Joe’s creator (and creator of Bayonetta) has already stated that he’d like to back to the Joe series. Make it happen!

Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch – Greatest Doom Mod Ever?

mega1mm

Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch will play as if Megaman suddenly turned 3D. Everything will play as if it was being played back in 1987. Levels will use purely 8-bit textures and sprites. Megaman will jump high and take damage recoil. Weapons will behave exactly as they did back then, only from a 3d perspective. The plan is to eventually have all the levels and weapons from Megaman 1-6 (and maybe 9). Obviously some weapons will have minor changes because there are a lot of clones throughout the series.

It’s 2009 and people are STILL making Doom mods!?As long as they look this awesome, they can just keep on making ‘em.

mega2v

You can currently download the early alpha build of Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch here.

Is anyone else annoyed by the fact that the makers of this mod are spelling Mega Man as one word (Megaman) instead of the proper 2-word spelling?

Mad props to Greg, who beat the original 6 robot masters and Dr. Wily WITHOUT cheating, for the tip.

Kozik x Muttpop Ocran Ocinatas Tequila

48

Back in June 6th of 2006 (6/6/6/) Muttpop released the Narco Satanico version of their Tequila figure, featuring the amazing design talents of the one and only Frank Kozik.

It looked a little something like this:
oldasatanico

The figure was released in a limited run of only 333 pieces exclusively through vinylpulse.com and I’ve always considered it sort of the Holy grail of designer toys. I’d never seen such a visually striking vinyl figure that captivated me the way the original Narco Satanico did three years ago.

Until now.

Ocran Ocinatas is Narco Satanico with a reversed color scheme. Even the name is reversed! But, to be fair, I think the true reversal of Narco Satanico would be Ocinatas Ocran, not Ocran Ocinatas, but it really doesn’t matter, I suppose. Not when a figure looks this sickeningly good.

Ocran Ocinatas doesn’t officially come out until January of 2010, but Muttpop will be offering limited quantities at their booth (#45) at this year’s DesignerCon on November 21st (this Saturday!) at the Pasadena Convention Center in California.

Muttpop will also finally be showing off their unseen contribution to the third series of BUDs minifigs from Jamungo!

If you plan on hitting up this year’s DesignerCon, I’d recommend bringing a fat-ass wallet because it looks like you’ll be needing it for all the money you’re sure to blow.

Capcom Resurrects TOFU MODE for ‘Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles’

Resident Evil 2 remains one of my favorite games of all time mostly because of all the hidden little secrets. The most batshit crazy unlockable was without a doubt The Tofu Survivor, otherwise known as Tofu Mode.

To unlock Tofu Mode, you had to beat the game 3 times with a good ranking on each playthrough, but the game was 2 discs long so you essentially had to beat 6 games to unlock Tofu Mode. And if that wasn’t enough of a pain in the rumplestiltzkin, Tofu Mode put you in the role of a hunk of tofu with nothing but a knife to make your way from the sewers to the roof of the Raccoon City Police Department.

It wasn’t easy, but it was a fun and challenging to an already amazing game.

As you can see in the video above, Tofu Mode returns in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, but this time around, instead of playing as Tofu, you actually shoot a bunch of wriggling tofu blocks.

Looks like just one more reason pick this game up and I’m sooooo freaking glad Capcom is making this an unlockable mode instead of charging for it as downloadable content.

Daily Graffiti: The Amazing Pixel Graffiti of ANO

Another day, another ANO post. Rather than just drag it out and post only one example of his awesomeness each day, I figured it’d just be best to make a gigantor ANO gallery post. This guy’s work is absolute perfection.

Be sure to check out ANO’s blog and flickr for more craziness. And if you haven’t checked his animated short, I highly recommend you do so now.

Check out the Daily Graffiti Archives for more awesome.

Speaking of THE BLOB, Remember A LITTLE BIT ON THE AWESOME SHOW?

Hey, speaking of The Blob, check out this old episode of A Little Bit On The Awesome Show where we hit up the Blobfest in Phoenixville, PA, meet Tom Savini, watch a bunch of weirdos in tinfoil hats run out of a movie theater, and buy some toys at a cool little record shop. I also get REALLY drunk and do karaoke.

This was the 2nd episode we ever did of A Little Bit On The Awesome Show and it’s weird to see how terrible I was at editing footage. I mean, I still suck, but not nearly as bad. And what the ballz was I thinking with that voiceover!? Ugh. Live and learn, I guess.

And here’s the Dunny that I won.

Oh yeah, A Little Bit On The Awesome Show will soon be making a comeback after like a 10 month hiatus. Just thought I’d warn you ahead of time.

You can check out old episodes of A Little Bit On The Awesome show over on the ALBOTAS Vimeo page.

District 9 looks good. Really, really, really good.

I wasn’t as pumped for the summer movie season as I was last year until I saw this trailer for District 9. It starts of looking like some sort of documentary about slums in 3rd world countries and the after effects of war, but then there’s hyper-realistic looking CG spaceships and aliens. Can’t wait.
