ALBOTAS is now on Tumblr! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a long while now, and it’s finally time. After way too many headaches with hosted servers and WordPress installs, I said “eff it” and made the switch. The old Albotas WordPress was just plain terrible after the server upgrade a while ago and it made upgrading impossible. But now we’re on Tumblr; no upgrading necessary! I’ll be keeping the old site up on the server until I can get all the old posts transferred over. If I wind up hating Tumblr’s guts, I can always just switch back to WordPress. I found a PHP script that can migrate wordpress posts to Tumblr and keep the time, date, and links formatted (very important for keeping traffic/Google Analytics stuff), but I have NO idea how to run script of any kind. If anybody’s good with PHP and wants to help out, please get ahold of me. When it comes to designy stuff, I’m pretty decent, but I suck at all the techy stuff. Thus the switch to tumblr. So, yeah, now you can follow us on Tumblr, or just keep checking the site the way you used to. I’ll also have the feed redirected, so no need to resubscribe to the RSS. I haven’t tested the layout in any browsers other than Firefox, so if anything looks wonky, please, let me know. Looking forward to focusing less on back-of-the-site maintenance and more on posting awesome content.
