tokidoki’s summer lineup is out and there are a bunch of awesome new designs. The bad part (at least for us dudes) is that most of those styles are for the ladies. Just look at those shirts up there. Ice cream Cactus Pup? Pirate Cactus Cat? How about some Cactus Friends designs for men, tokidoki?
My wish came true! The pastry puppies are getting full size plush releases from tokidoki. There’s no release date yet, but it can’t be too long since the photo shows what seem to be finished products.
This watch is all sorts of amazing. Sanrio and tokidoki continue their collaboration, this time roping in super stylish watchmakers, Nooka. Gotta love the tokidoki-ified Hello Kitty characters. I’m hoping for a tokidoki x Sanrio blindbox series some day.
Update: Love Through Design have contacted me and let me know that they have headed up this project and that you can pre-order the watch right here.
tokidoki have just added plush versions of Bastardino and Prima Donna to their lineup of love-stuffed plush toys. I hope Donutino is the next character to get the full-sized plush treatment. Plastic would be fine too, though. Get ‘em here.
Yours truly has uncovered a couple of images of the upcoming line of glasses from tokidoki. I can’t wait to see the full collection. The Spring line of shirts launched today, so it shouldn’t be too long.
If you’ve been waiting for those tokidoki-branded headphones from SOL REPUBLIC, today’s your day. Both versions are available for for $150 from tokidoki’s web store. The two versions only differ in their graphics. One has a traditional tokidoki design with the brand’s characters and logos all scattered around the headband. The other has a slightly more subtle bandana design. Grab a pair here.
There’s a Chinese tradition to give money in a small red envelope on New Year’s. tokidoki have created this printable envelope so you can give fun stuff to your friends in style. Click on the image for the full rez version, save it, and print it. Happy Year of the Snake!
Check out the winning entry in the tokidoki x Sharpie DIY Unicorno Challenge. This custom definitely deserved the win. From the color scheme, to the extra moulding, to the detailed painting, it’s plain awesome. Check out the runners up here.
tokidoki have just revealed some of their designs for the Spring 2013 season. There are a bunch of new hats in there, as well as these tokidoki x Marvel and Street Fighter x tokidoki shirts. That Psylocke one is the perfect blend of tokidoki and X-Men. Check out the rest of the lookbook, including the ladies’ clothes, here.
I love my Paul Frank frames. But they’ll maybe get put aside since tokidoki will be launching their line of frames, along with a refresh of the sunglasses line, in February. The frames will feature tokidoki’s lovable characters as well as glow-in-the-dark logos. Prices will range from $100 to $140.
tokidoki just dropped two new series of bindboxes today. The first is Unicorno Series 2, which has eleven new characters. These new designs are awesome, especially the Dia de los Muertos one.
The second is the Donutella and Her Sweet Friends series of mini plushies. There are eight characters than stand about four inches tall. Super cute!
Get a Unicorno Series 2 blindbox here for $8 or a Donutella blindbox here for $10.
Brownkidd is the founder of Albotas.com. I’m Marc, the other dude. My dad showed me something called Space Invaders at the age of 3. From that moment, I was hooked to all things awesome: videogames, giant robots, and toys.
I originally wrote for a videogame website but always wanted to write for Albotas instead. So that’s what I did. I still love games, especially 2D fighters and shooters, as well as anything old. But designer toys have taken over my blogging life. Or should I say blogLIFE?
Over the past few years, I’ve gotten more and more frustrated with the videogames industry. It’s becoming more like the movie industry every year - publishers only banking on IPs that they can make a series out of, resulting in a lack of innovation or originality. Sure there are a lot of great modern games out there, but it’s not like it used to be. The Dreamcast was the last console with a soul if you ask me.
So over this time I’ve started writing more about designer toys. I started seeing these things in the local record store around 2004 and got familiar with Kidrobot. Then I started seeing stuff from tokidoki and started to actually collect the toys. Now I’m hitting up crazy Kidrobot parties and going to the Designer Toy Awards. Crazy stuff. Anyway, you’re probably here to watch the video rather than read a wall of text, so check it out. And don’t forget to subscribe to our channel!

Get out your glitter and rainbow paint because tokidoki have just entered the platform market with their DIY Unicorno. The blank 5” figure will run you $20 and is available now. Three tokidoki-branded Sharpies come in the box, which is awesome, though I’m sure you’ll get better results with paint.
