Misaka Mikoto Figma Pre-orders Open

Misaka Mikoto is a character from the anime series To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, which I’ve never actually heard of before, but from the design of this character, it seems like something I’d want to check out.

You can currently pre-order her from our friends over at Otacute and she’ll ship at the end of July. The only bummer is the price: $57.50 which is a little much when compared to the $25-$35 Figmas that have been released this year. Nevermind. This totally isn’t a Figma and I’m not even sure why I posted it as such. My bad.

And here’s the opening credits of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. Not quite sure what to make of it. Anyone know if it’s any good?

Sick PVC Statue of Momohime from Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Alter produced this crazy gorgeous 1/8 scale PVC statue of Momohime from the Wii game Muramasa: The Demon Blade that can easily be appreciated by hardcore fans of the game and people who’ve never even heard of it. It can also be set up into one of two different poses: sword being drawn, or sword already drawn going in for the kill.

This fig is set to drop at the end of July for $81.50.  Pre-order yours from Otacute, who also happen to be an Albotas sponsor and the raddest import toy store around.

Azusa Nakano Nendoroid Announced

Aw shit! The GSC Blog just got updated with this single pic of a Nendoroid of Azusa Nakano (aka Azu-nyan) from the K-ON! anime series.

Alafista.com is reporting that pre-orders will open tomorrow, but I couldn’t find that information anywhere. Google Translator (not the most accurate, I know) says “information will start tomorrow” which I’m assuming means the official Good Smile Co. site will have more pics and details. Either way, I’ll be camping on the major Japanese online hobby shops just to be safe.

Check out the vid below to get the full story behind Azu-nyan’s cat ears and her nickname.

Kingdom Hearts II Christmas Town Sora Figure

Pre-orders are now open for this Kingdom Hearts II Non-Scale figure of Sora in his Christmas Town outfit. This is a limited figure and won’t be available until April 2010, but you can currently pre-order one at Play-Asia for $44.90 before they’re all sold out.

Tsumugi Kotobuki Figma Coming This April!

The Figma Blog just announced details for the release of Tsumugi Kotobuki aka Mugi-Chan from the much-loved K-ON! series. It was only last week that Mio-chan was announced and it looks like hardcore K-ON! fans have yet another reason to open up their wallets.

Mobip No.7 [Strike Witches] Miyafuji Yoshika

The latest Mobip (Aoshima’s answer to Revoltech and Figma) to be released is none other than Miyafuji Yoshika from the anime series Strike Witches. Pants? Who the hell needs pants when your legs are freakin’ airplanes!?

Kanu Unchou Figutto! Mimi Cat Version

Yesterday Griffon Enterprises announced this insanely cute Figguto! of Kanu Unchou as a cat. I’d never heard of Figguto! before, but it looks like they’re basically the same as a Figma or Revoltech figure.

Kanu comes with a stand, some clear box thing (really no clue what that is. maybe to store the parts?), 2 sets of kitty paws, 4 different faces, and two little figures of Ryuubi Gentoku and Sousou Moutoku! All this awesomeness for just around $40! I pre-ordered one for myself from Otacute.com, but it doesn’t come out until late April.

Fun fact: Otacute.com doesn’t require any billing info for pre-orders! Just add a pre-order item to your cart, and it’s yours! You don’t have to enter any credit card info until they email you letting you know that they have it in stock, but if you cancel your pre-order you have to pay a re-stock fee. I’m probably gonna abuse the crap out of this and pre-order way more than I can afford, but at least my shelves will be full of awesome toys!

Yuzuko Hayakawa 1/8th Scale PVC Figure from Good Smile Company

1_2009Oct20195755_2717

This Yuzuko Hayakawa PVC figure from Good Smile Company is the first PVC figure that’s blown my mind in a while. I’ve always been a fan of figures that display a good amount of motion and this piece does it in spades. I’m especially loving the swirly chain.

Since I’m not all that familiar with the character, here’s the official press statement:

From the manga currently serialized in YOUNG GANGAN magazine, authored by Dai Satou and drawn by Maseru Gotsubo – ‘Yuzuko Peppermint’, comes a PVC figure of the stylish, silent high school girl, ‘Yuzuko Hayakawa’!

Yuzuko is the wielder of the special ability ‘Peppermint’, that acts as a powerful stimulant whenever she becomes angered. Her normal long black straight hair, as well as the peppermint green hair are both included, allowing you to pose her both before and after using her ‘Peppermint’ ability. The huge iron ball she wields whilst fighting, ‘Shiranuhi’ is also included.

The figure will be sold together with an original drama CD story, written by Dai Satou, placed on a drama CD with a wonderful cast, as well as a booklet including illustrations by Maseru Gotsubo!

You can currently pre-order Yuzuko over at Play-Asia, but hurry because supplies are limited.
