8 Bit Weapon was actually the first chiptune artist I’d ever heard of about 4 or 5 years ago. I actually remember a friend of mine saying that the novelty of chiptunes would wear of and I’d get bored with it. He couldn’t have been more wrong. The chiptune scene is growing more and more each year and finally being featured regularly in the mainstream gaming media. It’s only natural that like other genres, chiptunes would take on classic holiday music. For those of you keeping track, it seems like designer toy kingpin Erick Scarecrow’s been on a streak of outdoing himself lately. The trend continues with his Black Friday exclusive, the all new Shadow Spell Colorway of his Miruku Papa Sama character.
These figures are priced at $100 each. Hopefully if you’re picking one of these up on Black Friday, it’s for a friend and not yourself. Only assholes blow $100 on themselves on Black Friday unless they’re loaded enough still get the rest of their X-mas shopping done, have absolutely no one to buy for, or maybe they’re Jewish or something and don’t celebrate Christmas. That being said, if anyone is looking to get a little something for that special blogger in their life, this would be the perfect gift.
Each year Kidrobot releases a 3″ holiday-themed Dunny and this year they’ve turned to U.K. design duo TADO for what can only be described as one of the most endearingly sarcastic holiday Dunnys so far. I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that this is not only the best Dunny release of 2009, but it’s easily one of the greatest of all time. I’m just wondering what’s under the beard. And since this is Kidrobot we’re talking about, it’s safe to say you can probably expect a chase variant or two.
