Get a Free DIY Skully from SkullyBoom

Earlier this year the DIY brand Urban Warfair announced that they would be selling the company. A deal was made during this year’s DesignerCon in Pasadena, CA handing over the rights and remaining production tools over to SkullyBoom Inc.

“The SkullyBoom SB1 is a huge cross-over product that transcends numerous genres in music, action sports, fashion and art. The move to acquire the Skully toy license positions us in a place where we can bring much more exposure to the custom toy scene, and hopefully help more artists get the publicity they deserve,” said DLi$h, founder of SkullyBoom Inc.

Now you can win a free DIY Skully figure of your very own. Here’s all the details from the press release:

To start things off proper, SkullyBoom is providing a free DIY Skully to the first ten artists that can unlock the secret discount code during checkout. The complete discount code is “we_ _ _ _ _skully”. (Hint: What do you often do with DIY toys?)

Suppose you just wanna grab that Skully and pimp it out, well that’s cool too because we’re still going to hook you up with a $5 discount on any SkullyBoom product by typing in disount code “fiveonit” at checkout. All SB1 Pre-orders will also get a FREE Limited Edition Skully toy (Please specify blue or pink)!

Now seems like just as good a time as any to pick up a Skully for yourself or as a gift for the toy customizer in your life. Head over to SkullyBoom.com for more info.

Kozik x Muttpop Ocran Ocinatas Tequila

Back in June 6th of 2006 (6/6/6/) Muttpop released the Narco Satanico version of their Tequila figure, featuring the amazing design talents of the one and only Frank Kozik.

It looked a little something like this:

The figure was released in a limited run of only 333 pieces exclusively through vinylpulse.com and I’ve always considered it sort of the Holy grail of designer toys. I’d never seen such a visually striking vinyl figure that captivated me the way the original Narco Satanico did three years ago.

Until now.

Ocran Ocinatas is Narco Satanico with a reversed color scheme. Even the name is reversed! But, to be fair, I think the true reversal of Narco Satanico would be Ocinatas Ocran, not Ocran Ocinatas, but it really doesn’t matter, I suppose. Not when a figure looks this sickeningly good.

Ocran Ocinatas doesn’t officially come out until January of 2010, but Muttpop will be offering limited quantities at their booth (#45) at this year’s DesignerCon on November 21st (this Saturday!) at the Pasadena Convention Center in California.

Muttpop will also finally be showing off their unseen contribution to the third series of BUDs minifigs from Jamungo!

If you plan on hitting up this year’s DesignerCon, I’d recommend bringing a fat-ass wallet because it looks like you’ll be needing it for all the money you’re sure to blow.
