BioShock 2 DLC Coming in March

Today 2K games announced “an aggressive post-launch downloadable content plan for BioShock 2 that extends and enhances the single and multiplayer experiences by adding more glimpses into the award-winning world of Rapture.”

Things kick off this March with the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack which will hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Games For Windows for 500 points, and the PlayStation Network for $5.

Here’s what you can expect in the new DLC (from the press release):

• Rank Increase to level 50 with Rank Rewards
• New playable characters Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca
• 20 new trials*
• A third weapon upgrade for each weapon
• Five additional masks*
*Some items are only available after a player achieves a rank of 41 or higher.

2K Games also promises more downloadable chapters for the single player campaign. Looks like Rapture has a lot more stories to tell and I think I speak on behalf of the hardcore BioShock fans when I say we can’t freaking wait.

*Note: this info was taken from a U.K. press release, so dates and pricing might change for the U.S. release, but I think it’s safe to say that this is pretty accurate.

Go Get Flipper for DSi RIGHT NOW!!!

Flipper, the awesome looking indie game by Goodbye Galaxy Games is out RIGHT NOW as a DSi download for 500 points, so what the eff are you waiting for?

Here’s a description of the game from the Goodbye Galaxy Games website:

Your best friend in the world is a goldfish named Flipper. One night when you fall asleep, he gets kidnapped.
Of course you’re not going to rest until you rescued your friend!

The game is a puzzle-adventure game. And the basic goal is to find Flipper. Which is a lot harder than it sounds thanks to many obstacles and enemies that block your path!

Use the power up’s to completely change the landscape to your advantage build bridges, staircases or blow up everything!

And just look at these screens!!!

I get a real Paul Robertson vibe from this -- which is awesome!

It’s also interesting to see how far the game’s come along. For instance, check out this early trailer:

And now compare it with this newer trailer:

The main thing you’ll notice is that the hero looks way different. While browsing the Goodby Galaxy Games blog, I found out it was because “… nobody seemed to love the nerd-character. The boy is just easier to bond with.” I’m kind of hoping the oldschool hero is unlockable or something.

If anybody winds up getting this, let me know in the comments, or better yet, start a discussion over on the Albotas message boards!

The Behemoth Helps Out With Disaster Relief in Haiti

If you buy any DLC for Alien Hominid HD or Castle Crashers through Xbox LIVE from now until January 24th, The Behemoth will give 100% of the proceeds will to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development. Not only that, but the game developer will also match the amount raised, doubling the donation amount. If you haven’t checked out any of the DLC for these games, now’s as good a time as any.

Grand Theft Hentai

The latest DLC for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV includes some new stuff to watch on the in-game TV, including the anime parody Princess Robot Bubblegum. It features all the cliches you’d expect from an anime parody. There’s the scantily-clad heroine, pervy old guy, obligatory cute creature, and LOTS of tentacles.

There you have it. You officially never really have to watch a single anime after this because this pretty much sums up the entire genre.

Now you can get PSN games from Amazon

amazonPSN

Amazon now has their own little PSN store set up where you can buy first-party titles like flower, echochrome, and even PSOne Classics.Once you make your purchase, you get a code to input on the PSN Store to download your game.

So far there are 21 PS3 games, 25 PSP games, and 19 PSOne Classics to chose from. This beats the crap out of the almost 30 games available on the XBLA Amazon shop, but nothing’s worse than the WiiWare shop on Amazon – it only has one game: World of Goo. Ouch.

To promote the launch of the new store, Amazon is giving away a $9.99 PSN credit to anyone who picks up a PS3 Slim, and a $15.99 credit to anyone who picks up a PSP-3000. The offer ends 11:59 PM Pacific Time on 10/17/09.

Hrm… I wonder why they’re not offering anything for people who buy the PSP Go

So far this is only available in North America, but it seems like a decent option for people who have a few extra bucks sitting on their Amazon account.

LittleBigPlanet ‘History Kit’ Coming August 18th

historypacksacks

The History Kit will be downloadable via the PlayStation Store on August 18th. Unlike regular ol’ LittleBigPlanet DLC, this pack has all new music, materials and objects, and 140 new stickers. The kit revolves around seven historic themes: Gothic, Egyptian, Oriental, Roman, Arabic, Celtic, and Native American.

There’s also four new Sackboy costumes: Ada Lovelace, Genghis Khan, Boudica, and Mozart. I’ve only heard of two of those people and I really don’t feel like Wiki-ing the rest.

Of course we knew the Ghostbusters DLC for LittleBigPlanet was gonna’ be awesome, but the stickers are way more amazing than I ever could have hoped for. I especially love the Marshmallow Man on the top left.

Best of all, the download pack goes on sale this Thursday on the PlayStation Store. Can’t wait! The Stay Puft costume is obviously the coolest, while the no-ghost thing just looks kinda’ bootleg.
