Keepers of the Silhouette Tower - Handmade Custom Dunny Series by f+

Josh “f+” Pearce made this awesome set of 20 custom 3″ Dunnys that he’s selling blindboxed for a whopping $85 apiece. While the price is pretty huge considering a manufactured Dunny retails for around $8, these things look pretty freaking amazing.

If you want one of these bad boys for your collection, you can pick one up right here. As an added bonus, anyone who snags one within the next 30 days has the chance to score one of Josh’s 8″ custom Codexian figures for free.

Check out more pics over on f+’s blog.

I obviously need to get on the ball and make more customs. There’s some obvious ducats to be made.

Josh “f+” Pearce is a toy artist who’s done quite a few Spawn Dunnys as commission pieces for collectors. He sent me a link to his blog post featuring all the Spawn Dunnys he’s done – starting with his first one ever(above) and ending with he latest one (at the end of the post) – and asked if I’d share them, so I am.

Warning: Truly sickening work lies ahead. Prepare to be jealous of this dude’s talent.

Dunny Fatale Series drops January 28th. Free 3" KLOR Dunny when you buy a case!

The latest series of Dunnys from Kidrobot will be available January 28th and if you purchase an entire case from Kidrobot or select retailers, you’ll get a free limited edition 3-inch Dunny by KLOR!

I could be totally wrong on this, but this is the first time in recent memory that Kidrobot’s ever offered up an exclusive toy to people who shell out the cash for a full case. I’m not so sure it makes up for their crazy price gouging, but it’s an awesome gesture nonetheless.

The Dunny Fatale series is designed by an all-female cast of artists including Alex Anderson, Catalina Estrada, Klor, CW, Aiko, Kathie Olivas, Wendi Koontz, Koralie, The Baroness, Anna Chambers, Amanda Visell, Amy Ruppel, Julie West, Toofly, Junko Mizuno, Aya Kakeda, Tara McPherson, and Sara Varon.

Here’s the checklist.

A single blindbox will only set you back $7.95. Not bad for what I can only describe as one of the freshest Dunny sets to come out in years.

Rob Ingellis aka OsirisOrion is one artist who’s certainly carved out a special spot for himself in the custom designer toy scene. With his distinctly unique style, you can always pick an OsirisOrion piece out from the rest.

He recently sent in some pics of his latest works done for two different custom toy shows. First up the above 8″ Dunny, named SlaGG. This piece was done for the Multiversal custom show which takes place this Thursday, December 3rd. Check out multiversalgroupshow.com for more info.

Krunk-A-Claus 3″ Dunny by TADO for Kidrobot

KrunkaClaus

Each year Kidrobot releases a 3″ holiday-themed Dunny and this year they’ve turned to U.K. design duo TADO for what can only be described as one of the most endearingly sarcastic holiday Dunnys so far.

I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that this is not only the best Dunny release of 2009, but it’s easily one of the greatest of all time.

I’m just wondering what’s under the beard. And since this is Kidrobot we’re talking about, it’s safe to say you can probably expect a chase variant or two.

The back of this piece provides a pleasant warning that Christmas will beat the living shit out of you with a baseball bat and steal your money.

Krunk-A-Claus is currently available at Kidrobot.com and select retailers.

New 8″ Dunny from Buff Monster

buffmonster_dunny

I’ve been waiting forever for an 8″ Dunny from Buff Monster and the wait is finally over! Too bad Kidrobot jacked up their prices. If these would’ve been $50, I’d be on it like Kanye on a white girl’s mic, but $75 is just way too much for me to spend on a vinyl figure. The Kidrobot price-jacking is actually the reason that there’s not as much toy news on the site lately. Their greedy pockets officially made toy collecting un-fun for me, but I might have to make an exception for this buff monster piece.

It’ll be available October 8th for $75 and it’s limited to just 1,000 pieces worldwide.

Speaking of THE BLOB, Remember A LITTLE BIT ON THE AWESOME SHOW?

Hey, speaking of The Blob, check out this old episode of A Little Bit On The Awesome Show where we hit up the Blobfest in Phoenixville, PA, meet Tom Savini, watch a bunch of weirdos in tinfoil hats run out of a movie theater, and buy some toys at a cool little record shop. I also get REALLY drunk and do karaoke.

This was the 2nd episode we ever did of A Little Bit On The Awesome Show and it’s weird to see how terrible I was at editing footage. I mean, I still suck, but not nearly as bad. And what the ballz was I thinking with that voiceover!? Ugh. Live and learn, I guess.

And here’s the Dunny that I won.

Oh yeah, A Little Bit On The Awesome Show will soon be making a comeback after like a 10 month hiatus. Just thought I’d warn you ahead of time.

You can check out old episodes of A Little Bit On The Awesome show over on the ALBOTAS Vimeo page.

Dunny 2009 Series Coming September 9th

ds2009

A new wave of Dunnys is upon us. With the previous two series, Dunny U.K. and Dunny Endangered, being received with slightly lackluster fanfare,  it looks like Kidrobot has decided to kick up the awesomeness several notches with Dunny 2009 (technically Series 6). Check out the full checklist of Dunnys from the new series after the break. Continue reading “Dunny 2009 Series Coming September 9th”

Dr. Mario Virus Dunny Set

dr_mario_dunnys1

Daily Customs is back! Ever since the site crashed and I had to start from scratch, I’ve been neglecting the Daily Customs feature. This is mainly due to that fact that all my toy news gets posted on my other site, blindboxed.com. I’ll try and keep up with this from Monday to Friday and mainly feature custom toys modeled after video game, comic book, and movie characters.

This Dr. Mario Virus Dunny set was created by Reactor88. He also did a badass set of Dig Dug Dunnys which can be found here.

Custom TMNT Dunnys by Nikejerk

Over on blindboxed.com we recently featured an interview with the artist Nikejerk about his custom Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dunny series. Not only that, but he was kind enough to donate one random figure to a blindboxed.com reader. Check out the full story here for a chance to win one of these badass customs.
