So, I was browsing the internets today in search of something fresh to feature for Daily Graffiti when I stumbled onto an awesome world that I’d never heard of before: the world of Lego graffiti. There’s a Flickr group called Urban Culture and Lego and it’s filled with pictures of truly amazing Lego art paying homage to one of the 4 pillars of hip hop. Spotted this fresh Lego Grim Reaper graffit by Drop over on Flickr. Love the splattery effect towards the bottom. Here’s a full pic. I highly recommend you check the hi-res version here.
Ulises Farinas is a brilliant cartoonist/illustrator living in Brooklyn, NY and his Lego drawings featuring characters from Marvel Comics, Star Trek, and DC’s crossover event Blackest Night are freaking fantastic.
Also check out Motro, a comic that Farinas draws for the ACT-I-VATE webcomix collective.
I’ve already seen a Lego version of an NES console, but that thing was tiny. This Lego NES cartridge by Flynn2000 is a real-deal-Holyfield, life-size replica. Here’s a comparison: Now somebody just needs to make a life-size Lego NES for this thing to nestle in.
Albotas has featured all kinds of crazy Lego stuff before, but this is probably the most bizarre in recent memory. French fashion designer JC de Castelbajac has covered New Era fitted caps with Lego pieces. You’ve gotta’ wonder, were these design just made to be playful accessories for a runway show to compliment the designer’s latest collection, or is he really expecting people to wear this shit?
Show of hands, who would actually rock the Lego fitted look in public? Let me know in the comments. [Via Highsnobiety]
Lego Star Wars? Lame. Lego Indiana Jones? Lamer. Lego Rock Band? Suck my dick. Lego Left 4 Dead? Yes plz!!! These Left 4 Dead Legos were created by Saber-Scorpion (whose anti-zombie views cause me to doubt his awesomeness) using custom decals that he designed and weapons from Brickarms.com. Sure, I’ve featured Lego zombies on the site a few times before, but this is Left 4 freaking Dead! Check out more pics here. [Via Wonderland]
“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.” [Via technohell]
Don’t have the $15 to download Shadow Complex for XBLA? Have some spare Legos lying around? Just do what 2 Much Caffeine did and make you own version of the game in Lego form. Or you could do what I did and beg your girlfriend for $15. Whatever works. If you own an Xbox 360 and haven’t downloaded Shadow Complex yet, you’re obviously a huge chump.

The amazing trailer for Ninja Assassin looked badass enough, but now that it’s been re-done in Lego form, there should be some kind of Surgeon General’s warning or something for people who can’t handle too much awesomeness in one sitting. [Via /Film]
LEGO may not have any future plans to produce a zombie apocalypse series, but these sets by Nick Crocco are enough to whet and LEGO nerds zombie appetite. Come on, Lego, can these be real plz? Make it happen. More bad-ass zombie-slaying Lego vehicles (including an anti-undead forklift) after the jump. Continue reading “Post-Apocalyptic Anti-Zombie Lego Vehicles” → The Wu-Tang Clan are awesome enough on their own, but when you throw Legos into the mix, you get a whole new level of awesomeness. The video for Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ has been remade by Davo, who also did the short clip for Killer Tape (above) and a shot-for-shot “Director’s Cut” of Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ which breaks down the animations and makes you appreciate it a little more. Both the Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ and the Director’s Cut are embedded after the break. In true Wu-Tang fashion, you might wanna’ spark one up before hand. Brian Colin did a series of 4″ x 3″ Lego Zombie paintings for the Art-B-Que festival in Avondale, Georgia which took place on June 13th. He’s selling the leftovers over at his store for only $40 a piece and I’m totally thinking about getting one. [Via BoingBoing] |
