Heels&Zimerman is a new brand catering towards the design-conscientious skaters out there. They’ve only been around for about a month, but they’re already working a new vinyl figure with designer toy scene heavyweights Muttpop. Muttpop’s own Gobi (the dude who designed Tequila and El Panda) will be designing the figure, based on H&Z’s mascott, The Junior.
This is what The Junior looks like:
Tell me, would YOU like to have this sitting on your toy shelf? I didn’t think so. Nope, not pretty at all.
Now here’s some of Gobi’s sketches for what he’s whippin’ up:
Whew. Way easier on the eyeballs. Keep in mind, these are just rough drafts, so there’s no telling what the final figure’s gonna’ look like. I’ll keep you posted with the details as they come.
Until then, check out The Junior bouncin’ around on a trampoline. He looks cold.

Back in June 6th of 2006 (6/6/6/) Muttpop released the Narco Satanico version of their Tequila figure, featuring the amazing design talents of the one and only Frank Kozik.
It looked a little something like this:
The figure was released in a limited run of only 333 pieces exclusively through vinylpulse.com and I’ve always considered it sort of the Holy grail of designer toys. I’d never seen such a visually striking vinyl figure that captivated me the way the original Narco Satanico did three years ago.
Until now.
Ocran Ocinatas is Narco Satanico with a reversed color scheme. Even the name is reversed! But, to be fair, I think the true reversal of Narco Satanico would be Ocinatas Ocran, not Ocran Ocinatas, but it really doesn’t matter, I suppose. Not when a figure looks this sickeningly good.
Ocran Ocinatas doesn’t officially come out until January of 2010, but Muttpop will be offering limited quantities at their booth (#45) at this year’s DesignerCon on November 21st (this Saturday!) at the Pasadena Convention Center in California.
Muttpop will also finally be showing off their unseen contribution to the third series of BUDs minifigs from Jamungo!
If you plan on hitting up this year’s DesignerCon, I’d recommend bringing a fat-ass wallet because it looks like you’ll be needing it for all the money you’re sure to blow.
Jamungo has finally unleashed their 3rd series of BUDs upon the unsuspecting masses! In what can only be described as their most diverse and striking series yet, each figure comes blindboxed and retails for $9.99.
In case you haven’t heard, I also run this other little blog called blindboxed. It’s all about the world of urban designer toys and you should really check it out.
It was a weird week for me as it was my first time updating the site consistently since rsin and InfamousAdam left the site. They were two friends helping out with blogging duties, but their personal lives got kinda’ busy, so I’m holding down the fort by my lonesome for a while.
Here’s what’s been going on at blindboxed.com this week:
I managed to get some pics of a custom SkeletorDIY Pusher that I made a while back (above) and it’s currently for sale if anyone’s interested.
If customized toys aren’t your thing, how about customized gadgets? Reactor88 customized these gorgeous Vimobot USB drives for this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
