Kordian Lewandowski turns blends religious Renaissance art and geek culture with his polystyrene foam block carving titled Game Over, based on the famous La Pietá by Michelangelo.
Fun fact: Michelangelo was only 24 years old when he sculpted La Pietá. Suddenly, my life seems all the more worthless.
I’ve always wondered what steps one takes when carving something out of a block of stone or marble or, in this case, polystyrene. Now I know.
It’s so huge. Also, that’s what she said. [Via Kotaku]
Graffiti featuring standalone gaming icons is cool and all, but I especially love when they’re mixed in with letterstyles. This awesomeness is magnified when you add light painting to the mix, as can be seen by this Pikachu pic uploaded by Charles Massengill.
Wiimote, Linux shirt, and Nintendo panties. Oh yeah, and there’s a chick somewhere in the picture too. [Via Geekologie]
When the floating words mysteriously appeared, none of Mushroom Kingdom’s denizens knew what it meant or what to do, but they did know that things were about to get way more fresh. [Via Idiolector]

The Huffington Post has a list of 11 Creations That Prove “Mario Bros” Was The Most Important Game Ever and I’ve already seen everything on their list a fafillion times on different sites throughout the years. The only thing that was new to me was this awesome flower pot, so I’m sharing it with you. Because I fucking love you. Yeah, I said it.
If draping a severed dinosaur head by its tongue around your neck is your cup of tea, then this is probably… your cup of tea. You barbarian. Fashionably crafty dino cruelty can be yours for $45 right here. [Via That Girl's Site] Fresh-ass Professor Layton fanart by Inushi. I’d so play the shit out of this if it were real. DLi$h just sent it pics of his latest work: a pair of custom Skullcandy SK-Pro headphones with a custom 8″ Lilly Black figure. They look like something a DJ would wear while spinning at a rave in a steampunk post-apocalyptic future. Don’t believe me? Hit the jump for a better look. Flipper, the awesome looking indie game by Goodbye Galaxy Games is out RIGHT NOW as a DSi download for 500 points, so what the eff are you waiting for? Here’s a description of the game from the Goodbye Galaxy Games website:
And just look at these screens!!!
I get a real Paul Robertson vibe from this -- which is awesome! It’s also interesting to see how far the game’s come along. For instance, check out this early trailer: And now compare it with this newer trailer: The main thing you’ll notice is that the hero looks way different. While browsing the Goodby Galaxy Games blog, I found out it was because “… nobody seemed to love the nerd-character. The boy is just easier to bond with.” I’m kind of hoping the oldschool hero is unlockable or something. If anybody winds up getting this, let me know in the comments, or better yet, start a discussion over on the Albotas message boards!
MonkDrew made this Triforce latte for his brother’s birthay. You’re probably thinking “who the eff wants a freakin’ latte for their birthday?” But consider this: MonkDrew had to journey all across his kingdom, explore numerous dungeons, and slay countless bosses just so that he could collect the 3 foam triangles required to make this delicious caffeinated beverage.
