Daily Graffiti: Remember Alex Kidd?

490255138_32451cb47a_b

Here’s some cool stencil graffiti featuring a sprite of Alex Kidd from the oldschool Sega days. Fun fact: did you know Alex Kidd was sort of Sega’s unofficial mascot before Sonic came in and stole the spotlight?

These photographs are long exposures taken while playing video war games of the 80’s created by Atari, Centuri and Taito. The photographs were shot from video game screens while I played the games. By recording each second of an entire game on one frame of film, I captured complex patterns not normally seen by the eye.

Daily Graffiti: The Amazing Pixel Graffiti of ANO

2729364454_a7d7882b6b_o

Another day, another ANO post. Rather than just drag it out and post only one example of his awesomeness each day, I figured it’d just be best to make a gigantor ANO gallery post. This guy’s work is absolute perfection.

Be sure to check out ANO’s blog and flickr for more craziness. And if you haven’t checked his animated short, I highly recommend you do so now.

Check out the Daily Graffiti Archives for more awesome.

Daily Graffiti: Frogger Xing

This stencil graffiti featuring Frogger is pretty epic, but could you imagine how amazing it’d be if the artist went balls-out and done logs, alligators, or even 8-bit cars as stencils on the street?

No clue where this piece is located, but it was found by David Drexler, who may or may not be the artist-at-large responsible.

8-bit Resident Evil, Half-Life, and Pikmin Magnet Sets

8bitresidentevil

How awesome would it be if there were 8-bit versions of Resident Evil, Half-Life, and Pikmin for the original NES!? Someone out there with mad programming skills needs to make this a reality. Until then, you can pick up these sweet magnet sets from Etsy seller ArcadeArt for only $20 per set.

LEGO Entertainment System (why didn’t I think of that?)

legones1

This teeny-tiny NES by Arkov reminds me how much I miss playing with Legos. My love for gaming took priority somewhere along the line. Maybe someone should just make a Lego simulator for consoles…

It even opens up! Extra credit if someone makes a tiny NES cartridge to fit in there.

Aww. Lookit the cute little controller!

And of course, you can’t forget the A/V outputs.

Mystery Level on Super Mario Bros. 3 Box

smb3mysterylevel

Infendo pointed out a screenshot on the back of the original box for Super Mario Bros. 3 that doesn’t actually appear anywhere in the game. In fact, those bad guys that you see only show up in one level and it looks nothing like that level on the box. Is it possible that this level is in the Japanese version of the game, or has it remained hidden for all these years?
