I think the message behind this piece is that we’re all invaders. Poignant, creative, and a great use of the street as a canvas. A little bit of overspray, but it’s all part of the charm, I think. A++

This photograph was taken by the talented (and cute!) Canadian photographer Salty The Pirate from DeviantArt. The actual graffiti itself isn’t really mindblowing, but I love the colors of the picture and how dirty the sign is. This piece is also available as a print, which I’ll probably wind up buying at some point.
Caleb Paullus sent in these pics from his latest project, Super Not So Super – A Look into the super ordinary lives of superheroes. My favorites are Batman and The Flash, probably because they look less posey than the others, but all around awesome work. You can check out more pics and some funny photo comics at supernotsosuper.com.
Some people believe that an actual zombie outbreak could be possible by mutating a certain strain of potato virus. I wonder if there’s any actual zombie-like peanut viruses out there… Zombies Are Nuts About Brains is a print from Terry Border, the mind behind the book Bent Objects: The Secret Life of Everyday Things. Unfortunately, the print’s currently sold out, but lucky for you, I’ve posted it right here on this very site for you to admire as often as you’d like. You’re welcome. [Via Geekologie]
One of the best parts about running a blog that covers everything from videogames, gadgets, and toys to art and fashion is never quite knowing what to expect in my in-box each day. One of the coolest reader-submitted emails to come at me in some time comes from Jason Little, a photographer and regular Albotas.com reader (not to be confused with this photographer by the name of Jason Little, who’s probably never even heard of Albotas). Jason, along with his good friend and fellow photographer Anthony aka Tony Rysk, recently did a shoot combining two of my favorite things in the world: shoes and women.
Damn that’s a lot of shoes.
I shot Jason an email asking where all those freaking shoes came from. This is his reply:
You can check out more Jason Little photography on his DeviantArt or DAPortfolio page. You can also check out Tony Rysk’s Deviant Art page right here. Be sure to check out the gallery below for pics from the sneaker shoot as well as a sample of Jason’s other works. If you’re an aspiring artist, game designer, toy customizer, or wannabe so-and-so of any kind, feel free to hit me up at brownkidd@albotas.com and if you don’t suck, I’ll feature you on the site!

If you have a DSi and $25 to spare, why not waste it on Nyko’s Zoom Case. The Zoom Case takes higher quality images with a humorously enormous 8x zoom lens. The lens can be detached from the case, but there’s still a bulky nub over the DSi’s camera lens, so this doesn’t seem like the most pocket-friendly DSi case out there.
It looks like images taken with the Nyko Zoom Case still retain that DSi graininess, but it’s nice that Nyko’s thinking about those hardcore DSi photogs. The $25 doesn’t hurt much either.
Here’s the detachable lens which actually looks quite sturdy.
And here’s all the whozits and whatnots that it comes with. As silly as it is, for only $25 I think I want one.
I’m posting this not only because I love the colors and how everything is slightly out of focus except for the people on the Vespa, I’m really posting this because deep down, I’ve always wanted to start my own moped gang called the Union Jax. We’d take over our city, bringing down baseball bats to the kneecaps of anyone who’d dare stand in our way. This pic was taken by deniselai with a Lomography LC-A+ Camera loaded with EBX film.
I love, love, love, love, love the colors on this. Where can I get one of those kites? Taken by adi_totp with a Lomo LC-A+ RL Camera loaded with Fuji Sensia (35mm, 200 iso) film at the kite competition at Sanur Village Festival in Bali, Indonesia. WTF IS LOMOGRAPHY!?
The all new Diana Mini 35mm Camera from Lomography lets you shoot up to 36 square format pictures on a regular roll of 35mm film, or with the flip of a switch, you can shoot up to 72 half-frame shots. Half-Frame Format Square Format It can even do multiple and long exposures for some pretty cool effects. The Diana Mini is also compatible with the Flash Plug for the original Diana F+ Camera and it even works with a cable release (thingie that lets you press the “take picture” button from far away) unlike the original Diana. It’s only $60 or $100 if you order it with a flash, and it comes with a lens cap, carrying strap, manual, and the “Shoot Forever” mini book.
Not a bad deal at all. I want one. The thing that kept me from getting the original Diana F+ was the fact that it’s a medium format camera and you can’t get that type of film developed at most places. This is a good way to get that awesome Diana look to your photos without all the fuss of having to hunt down a pro photo lab. Get yours here.
Although this site is usually filled with all sorts of nerdy things like posts about movies, video games, and comics, some of my favorite sites on the internet cover none of those things. Some of my absolute favorite sites are Last Night’s Party, HighSnobiety, and Hipster Runoff, but my absolute favorite of favorites would have to be LOOKBOOK.nu. Maybe it’s I consider myself somewhat of a fashionable guy or something. Idunno, maybe I just like fashion photography. Or maybe I just like pictures of fashionable ladies
Whatever. So anyway, today when I went on, I saw this girl and my heart nearly exploded. I’m not normally one for blondes, but all a chick really needs is a cute smile and a cute outfit and I’m sold. Plus, she’s Swedish, so she probably has an adorable accent.
Carry on. [Via Lookbook]
Taken by dfunkdamager with a Lomography Fisheye 2 Camera and a Lomography Ringflash to get the cool mix of colors. Loaded with Lomography Fine Color (35mm, 100 iso) film. The more I see pictures taken with a Ringflash, the more I really, really, really, really want one.
Sorry for the lack of updates this week. I’ve actually just launched a new site focusing on my local underground scene and I’ve been setting up interviews with local bands, shop owners, artists, etc.
But I’m back now, so as promised, here’s those pics I took with my new Lomography Fisheye. These pics are from an epic party at the house of porn stars Travis Knight and Gina-Lynn in celebration of Skin Industries. The party was also a chance for me to reconnect with a good friend from high-school who I haven’t seen since I graduated over 7 years ago. He’s also the dude who vomited all over himself in the first picture up top. There’s some cool pics including sexy ladies dancing, chicks in semi-see-thru undies in a hot tub, the dude from redmohawk.com, me taking shots with a porn star, a midget/dwarf guy, and some parrots. ProTip: the guy with the camera always gets the most smiles from the ladies. Click through for the full gallery. Continue reading “My Lomo Fisheye Party Pics” →
Since I’m currently on a huge Lomagraphy kick, I figure I’d do a themed Daily Graffiti today. After the jump, check out a collection of graffiti photography. Some shots are taken with actual Lomography cameras and others were touched up in PhotoShop for that “Lomo” look, but after seeing this gallery, you’ll be inspired to get your own toy camera and start shooting from the hip in your city in no time.
