I already have a T.E. stick for the PS3, but I’ve been wanting one for the 360 as well so I can play online against my anti Sony friends. Might have to pick this up before the deal goes away.
While the gameplay could be considered a blatant Zelda ripoff, it’s more of a homage than anything. And besides, who could complain about having more games that play like Zelda?
Look out for this PS3 exclusive when it drops in the U.S. (finally!) on May 11th, 2010.
This is the NESticle, not to be confused with the NES emulator. Aside from the silly-yet-awesome name, it houses working Sanwa joystick parts and works with the Xbox 360, PS3 as well as Mac, Windows, and Linux machines.
As cool as it is, I kinda’ wish it was facing the right way. You have to turn the console around in order to play it an everyone knows that staring at an NES’s ass isn’t as cool as staring at its frontal goods.

Being the whore for stupid/useless limited edition junk that I am, I want this — no — I need this.
There’s always been this ongoing argument in the video game reviewing world about scoring systems, particularly those on a 10/10 scale. The argument is that a score of 10 — the absolute highest score — would mean that a game is flawless — perfect in every way. In the history of video games, no game has ever been completely flawless. Until now.
At the risk of sounding like hype, I can honestly say that Uncharted 2 is a crowning achievement in gaming and a great testament to what the medium can really do. When we talk about games being interactive movies, this is it. And it’s not hours of cutscenes or a series of quick time events. This is you playing out amazing action sequences fit for a big budget Hollywood blockbuster. Uncharted 2 is the perfect, seamless integration of gameplay and story.
With a cast of colorful, believable characters that evolve as the story progresses, a story that twists and turns until the very end, and the absolute greatest action sequences in any game to date, Uncharted 2 is one of the most immersive gaming experiences you’ll get this year.
I’m not really the sort of person who would ever refer to a game as “the best ever” and I definitely don’t like hearing other people say, but I can honestly say that uncharted 2 is the most well-made game that I’ve ever played. Every single camera frame, every puzzle, every action sequence, every shoot out, every platforming part — they’re all amazing on their own, but when you mix all these elements together with a great story, great characters, gorgeous locations, and some of the best visuals of this generation, it’s trulya testament to what games can accomplish.
Oh, and there’s also a multiplayer mode.
It’s exciting to think about what game will eventually come out and top this. If you’re a PS3 owner, don’t deny yourself one of the greatest gaming experiences you’re likely to have all year. Buy Uncharted 2 now!

The classic PS2 titles God of War and God of War II are getting remastered in HD and slapped onto a single Blu-Ray disc scheduled for a March 2010 U.s. release. Both games will run at an ultra-smooth 60 frames-per-second and each copy includes a download voucher for the God of War III E3 demo.
You really have no reason to get on this unless you hate fun and awesome stuff.
I never really quite got into the Fist of the North Star series. Something about the character design always bothered me. But these screens from the upcoming game for PS3 and Xbox 360 make me wanna’ read the manga right this freaking instant!
Rather than make a gallery of teensy little thumbnails that you have to click on, I’ve decided to show the pictures in their full glory. You can see them in even fuller glory by doing the right click/view image thing to see the bigger and better versions.
ZOMG!!! Lookit teh blud!
Here’s the teaser trailer that came out a few weeks ago:
And here’s a recording of some gameplay footage that was streamed live, so it’s really laggy and has no audio. Sorry.
I’m pretty sure that we’ll see this in the states at some point, but if not, I’m totally importing this shit out of this. Judging by the looks of all the freakishly large necks and the no-doubt crazy polygon count all the muscles, I think it’s safe to say that there probably won’t be too much plot involved. And if so, it probably doesn’t matter as long as you get to be a burly dude rippin’ other burly dudes apart.
Hotuto Musou (Fist of the North Star to us westerners) is set for a 2010 release in Japan.
So I was online playing the amazing 2D fighter BlazBlue the other night for PS3. Now, whenever there’s an online game that lets you create a name for your room, I always name it ‘Albotas.com’ to help promote the site. Well, I played a few rounds with this one guy, and the next day when I turned on my PS3, I had a friend request from him. Not only that, but he also sent me a message that said “my old room haha,” and the message had the above image attached.
Amazing.
Love the Hello Kitty hat on your fro, dude!!! That shit made my day!
Amazon now has their own little PSN store set up where you can buy first-party titles like flower, echochrome, and even PSOne Classics.Once you make your purchase, you get a code to input on the PSN Store to download your game.
So far there are 21 PS3 games, 25 PSP games, and 19 PSOne Classics to chose from. This beats the crap out of the almost 30 games available on the XBLA Amazon shop, but nothing’s worse than the WiiWare shop on Amazon – it only has one game: World of Goo. Ouch.
To promote the launch of the new store, Amazon is giving away a $9.99 PSN credit to anyone who picks up a PS3 Slim, and a $15.99 credit to anyone who picks up a PSP-3000. The offer ends 11:59 PM Pacific Time on 10/17/09.
Hrm… I wonder why they’re not offering anything for people who buy the PSP Go…
So far this is only available in North America, but it seems like a decent option for people who have a few extra bucks sitting on their Amazon account.
This November, Sony will include PSP-exclusive digital copies with select Sony Pictures titles. It all kicks off on November 3rd when the American version of Godzilla hits store shelves, bundled with a PSP-only digital copy. Then, on November 10th, The Ugly Truth gets released with both a PSP-only digital copy and a DVD-ROM containing a traditional digital copy.
Too bad you need a PS3 in order to transfer the copy onto your PSP.
Here’s a few reasons why this is stupid:
If you own a PS3 in the first place, chances are slim that you’ll want to re-watch the movie on a tiny-ass screen.
Even if you don’t own a PS3 or Blu-ray player, seriously, who watches movies on their PSP? Remember what happened to movies on UMD?
Why release some Blu-rays with just a PSP-only copy, but others with an additional traditional copy?
Unless consumers can have the option to transfer their digital copies to a PSP with something other than a PS3, this whole concept is terrible.
Godzilla was terrible, the Ugly Truth looks terrible, and it probably is terrible.
Not only is the new PS3 Slim NOT backwards compatible, but it seems like Sony is done with backwards compatibility for good.
In an interview with Ars Technica, Sony’s Director of Hardware Marketing, John Koller, stated:
“It’s not coming back, so let me put that on the table”
“It’s not as big as a purchase intent driver as you may be hearing. We’ve got such a substantial lineup of titles on the PS3; most people are buying the PS3 for PS3 games. They’re buying it for PS3 games and Blu-ray movies.”
Right. Because gamers would much rather have to re-buy digital versions of their favorite last-gen games that they already own, assuming they’d ever be available for download in the first place.
Koller uses the term “most people.” The word “most” implies more than 50%. Considering there’s millions of PS3 owners out there, Sony would have to have heard from the lips of over 50% of them that they really don’t give a shit about backwards compatibility, which I think would be highly unlikely.
Is just me, or does it seem like Sony’s pulling a Nintendo? Nintendo lost touch with their hardcore fan base in order to appeal to a different group of gamers. Sony just lost touch with everyone and only wants to appeal to themselves.
In a move that everyone saw coming, Sony finally announced the much-rumored PS3 Slim. At only $299.99, the 33% smaller, 36% lighter PS3 comes with a 120GB hard drive and consumes 34% less power. The PS3 Slim will be available some time in September, but until then, the current 80GB PS3 Not-So-Slim will have its price cut down to $299 as well.
*UPDATE: THIS CONTEST HAS ENDED. THE WINNER WAS ANNOUNCED HERE. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR PLAYING!*
The retail version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the PS3 just came out, and while it didn’t have the soundtrack, art book, or 2000 Capcom Unity points that were rumored to be included, it does come with a free month of Marvel Digital Comics ($9.99 value) and a cool case that’ll make all your gamer friends jealous. Not bad for costing just as much as the PSN version.
This retail version is limited to just 15,000 copies and I’m giving one away. There’s 4 different ways to enter giving you up to 4 chances to win.
Leave a comment on this post. That’s it. Simple, huh? Be sure to fill in your email address so that I can notify you if you win. (One comment counts as one entry. Only one comment counts.)

Sony Pictures just signed a seven-figure deal to turn Sucker Punch Productions‘ open-world game about a morally confused bike messenger with lighting powers into a feature film.
The movie adaptation of inFAMOUS is being written by Sheldon Turner who wrote the screenplay for the remake of The Longest Yard and he’s currently working on a comic called Warrior which will be published by Top Cow.
This is also being produced by Avi and Ari Arad aka the people who produced Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. They’re also producing the Uncharted movie, so take that for it’s worth, I guess.
I thought the game was good, but I really see no point in there being a movie. The main draw of the game was being able to choose a particular path and become either good or evil — something that’s not possible when watching a movie. Idunno, I wanna’ be excited, but I have doubts.
Maybe they can get Channing Tatum to play Cole. I think it’d work.
Next week you’ll be able to download Sackboy versions of Cole McGrath from inFAMOUS in either his Hero or Infamous form. No word on whether or not Sackboy will able to shoot lightning bolts out of his sackey little hands.
