Daily Graffiti: A New Spin On Space Invaders

I think the message behind this piece is that we’re all invaders. Poignant, creative, and a great use of the street as a canvas. A little bit of overspray, but it’s all part of the charm, I think. A++

6 Awesomely Geeky Business Card Holders

As a semi-professional blogger for one of the most amazing geek news sites on the internet, I tend to hand out a few business cards at conventions and press gatherings. One thing I’ve been on a seemingly never-ending quest for is a badass business card holder that says “Yes, I’m a giant nerd, but I mean business!”

After the jump, check out six awesome business card holders by Banpresto inspired by retro games. Three of these are currently available, the other three are pre-orders that won’t ship until March 2010. They’re all limited edition and the most expensive one is only $10.90!

For The Ladies: Space Invaders Tights

News flash: I’ve never been much of a boob man. I’ve always preferred the lower regions of the female geography — especially a great set of stems. So, you could just imagine my pervy delight when I spotted these $80 Space Invaders tights from Black Milk. Sure, they’re a bit on the expensive side, but ladies, wearing them will probably get you laid. By me. If that’s okay with you. And my girlfriend.

Wash the nerdstink out with NES controller soap.

Wash your stinky ass with NES controller soap from DigitalSoaps! Perfect for the nerd in your life who’s not too keen on hygiene. And best of all, it smells like Mountain Dew!

Warning: If it’s your nerd’s first time bathing with NES controller soap, do not let him go unsupervised as they may try to eat the soap due to its Mountainy Dewy scent.

The Etsy seller who made these is actually all sold out, but they have lots of other cool soaps at their shop like iPods, Xbox 360 & Sega Genesis controllers, Tetris blocks, and Space Invaders.

The Many Faces of a Space Invader

Some of these Space Invaders concepts by Logan Walters are kind of corny, but others like Batman and Homer are pretty awesome.

‘Invaded Space’ by Adam Richardson

Adam_Richardson_Space_6

Photographer, graphic designer, and design director Adam Richardson recently released pics from his news project entitled “Invaded” where he adds iconic imagery from the game Space Invaders onto actual war photos.

I was a bit bummed to find out that instead of actually taking the pictures himself, Richardson just snags them from stock photo sites like Getty Images and AP Images. Although it takes away some of the magic, the final results are still pretty brilliant.

This is the first, and probably the only time that I’ll ever utter the following words:

I fucking want that mailbox!

Daily Graffiti: Lomographitti

Since I’m currently on a huge Lomagraphy kick, I figure I’d do a themed Daily Graffiti today. After the jump, check out a collection of graffiti photography. Some shots are taken with actual Lomography cameras and others were touched up in PhotoShop for that “Lomo” look, but after seeing this gallery, you’ll be inspired to get your own toy camera and start shooting from the hip in your city in no time.

Space In-Vader T-Shirt by Steven Lefcourt

space_in_vader

T-shirts and witty puns go together like penises and vaginas, but Darth Vader and Space Invaders? Well, That’s more like buttsex: a little weird at first, but still awesome.

Designed by Steven Lefcourt for UK gamer fashion label Supercombo, you can score one of these tees for your very own for £14.99 (about $23 US) over at the Supercombo store.

This shirt would go perfect with any hot chicks in booty shorts that you might have lying around.
