My friend and mega-talented graffiti artist ABOVE recently emailed me with pics and info about a piece he just did in Cuba. Rather than just re-word everything, I figured I’d just share the email in its entirety.
HELP THY NEIGHBOR from ABOVE on Vimeo. Another awesome piece from a truly talented artist. If you haven’t done anything to help out with the crisis in Haiti, please get involved! Even if it means donating a dollar or a few cents.
Not as awesome as this Bulbasaur stencil, but it’s pretty freakin’ cool nonetheless. [Via mikechoisphotos]
I think the message behind this piece is that we’re all invaders. Poignant, creative, and a great use of the street as a canvas. A little bit of overspray, but it’s all part of the charm, I think. A++ Photo by Yusuf Ozkizil.

Here’s some cool stencil graffiti featuring a sprite of Alex Kidd from the oldschool Sega days. Fun fact: did you know Alex Kidd was sort of Sega’s unofficial mascot before Sonic came in and stole the spotlight? [Via Jordiet.]
ABOVE has been busy leaving his mark all over the world and this time he’s outdone himself with this epic piece on the Berlin Wall to mark the 20th anniversary of its falling. Hit the jump for a video and more pics. Continue reading “Daily Graffiti: Bridge the Divide by ABOVE” → |
