This potential father-of-the-year candidate painted a 12-foot long Super Mario Bros. 3 mural on his son’s bedroom wall. Each pixel was painted over a huge grid that the father drew out across the wall. The whole project took about 2 years to complete, but the father admits he slacked for about a year and a half.
You can see lots of work-in-progress shots and a full view of the mural here.
Thanks for the tip, Dean!

“Oh, it’s terrible! The King has been transformed! Please find the magic wand so we can change him back.”

Super Mario Bros. 3 never happened. It was all just a stage show. A play. Mario was never once in any real danger. You were merely the audience.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat!? I never once made this connection. My brain nugget’s just been shattered to tiny bits by this bomb of a realization.
At least it wasn’t all a dream like Mario 2. That was some bullshit.

Here’s some more revealing pics of Erick Scarecrow’s grayscale colorway of Soopa Maria that I posted a sneak peek of earlier this week.

Erick Scarecrow’s Soopa Maria Sato character — clearly an homage to Super Mario Bros. 3 — is my absolute favorite among his figures by far and it would be a huge understatement to say that this new grayscale colorway makes me just a bit giddy.

This whopping 18″ figure is limited to a mere 10 pieces worldwide and will be available exclusively from the Japanese toy retailer Tomenosuke on Thursday, November 26th at 12am midnight JST.

Infendo pointed out a screenshot on the back of the original box for Super Mario Bros. 3 that doesn’t actually appear anywhere in the game. In fact, those bad guys that you see only show up in one level and it looks nothing like that level on the box. Is it possible that this level is in the Japanese version of the game, or has it remained hidden for all these years?
