Tee Time: Final Fantasy XIII Odin and Shiva Tees

If you’re the type of geek who likes to let their nerd flag fly, but doesn’t want to wear the same ol’ shirts that anyone can get from their local Hot Topic, check out these super sexy, super limited Odin and Shiva tees for Final Fantasy XIII. Since these shirts are limited in quantity and imported from Japan, they go for $40, but it’s really a small price to pay for being the most stylish nerd in town.

Tee Time: When Geek-ness Goes Retro…

just sent in word that one of his Threadless submissions was recently voted into production!

About the design, he says, “it’s a sorta “old comic book adverts selling internet/new century geeky stuff” design.”

You can get the shirt here for only $18.

Congrats, Riccardo!

Sylar’s Clock Shop, Bennet Cheerleading Camp, and Nakamura Travels – New ‘Heroes’ tees from Funkrush Clothing

Italian artist/customizer/designer Riccardo Bucchioni was previously featured on oldschool Albotas in a weekly segment that some of you might remember as Munny Monday (all those old posts were lost in the server switch earlier this year) and he recently shot me word that he designed three new tees based on the tv show Heroes for Funkrush Clothing.

Each fake promotional tee features a mock business from one of 3 Heroes characters. There’s Nakamura Travels, Bennet Cheerleading Camp, and Sylar’s Clock Shop.

Each shirt goes for £20.00 (about $32 US)

The dudes behind Funkrush are also behind Supercombo, makers of the Space Invaders/Darth Vader shirt dubbed Space In-Vader, which has previously been featured on the site. Be sure to check out their blog for updates on all their newest wares.

Lazy Man’s Cosplay – Link T-shirt from Game Paused

gpn_legend_tee_front

Here’s a shirt that most sane people would probably never wear in a million years, but it’s still kinda’ interesting, I guess.

Game Paused is selling this Link t-shirt with the following description:

Become a Legend with this very special Cosplay tee as worn by the Hero of Time himself. Traverse rugged terrain on horseback, explore dungeons, collect rupees and free the Princess in this inspiring t-shirt. Featuring the Master Sword on the back and belt, buckle and dungeon key on the front, this is a tee you will not want to be leaving home without – because every day is an adventure!

From the description, it seems like they either want you to believe you can go on a Zelda-like adventure while wearing this shirt, or they’re telling you that you should only wear it in the comfort of your own home while playing video games.

There’s even a Master Sword strapped to the back.

gpn_legend_tee_back

Would any of you wear this in public (conventions don’t count!)? Let me know in the comments!

The Hundreds x Stan Sakai – Limited Edition Usagi Yojimbo 25th Anniversary Tees

ARMOR_4_BLACK

This week The Hundreds will be releasing two fresh new limited edition T-shirts at their flagship stores in SF and LA. They’ve joined forces with the iconic comic book master Stan Sakai, best known for his comic book series Usagi Yojimbo, which is currently published by Dark Horse Comics.

Each tee features none other than the one and only Miyamoto Usagi, a ronin samurai rabbit loosely based on Miyamoto Musashi – the famous Japanese swordsman. You may also remember Usagi from a little cartoon back in the day called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Stan Sakai himself will be making an appearance at The Hundreds store in LA on Saturday, November 21st from 11 am to 12pm to sign the latest issue of his monthly series. And to top it all off, the first 25 people to show will also score a signed copy of Yokai, the first full-color Usagi Yojimbo comic.

usagiflyer1

“I am always excited to hear stories of the impact of Usagi on other creative individuals, especially those working outside of comics” said Usagi Yojimbo creator, Stan Sakai. “I hope that this collaboration exposes a whole new group of people to Usagi, and comics in general. I’m grateful to have had the chance to work on this project with Bobby and everyone at The Hundreds.”

“Much of what I do today, as creative director for the Hundreds, stems from poring over Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo art as a youth,” said The Hundreds co-founder Bobby Kim. “To this day, it was one of the most influential comic books in my life, and so it was an honor to work with Stan on two exclusive pieces of art for The Hundreds. To any fan of The Hundreds, it is important to acknowledge and appreciate Usagi Yojimbo’s inspiration to the brand.”

Tactical Urban Gears (TUG) is a new clothing brand based out of Singapore. They just released their first batch of 5 limited designs, including the above shirts featuring the ninja-in-training Hiro and his badass little sidekick cat thingy.

While these limited edition tees are a little bit on the expensive side ($29 – $36 USD), if you’re into Japanese-inspired design with an urban twist, these shirts may be just what you’re looking for. And since each design is printed in limited quantities, you’ll be sure to stand out in a crowd.

Lazy Man’s Cosplay – King Koopa Shirt

KingLizard

This Bowser t-shirt is brought to you by the netcasters (they have some sort of vendetta against being called podcasters) at FancyPantsGangsters.com. I especially love the pixelated fireball sprites on the front.

Finally, you can live out your lifelong dream of standing around on bridges and waiting for strangers to approach you for a battle to the death.

$99 ‘Portal’ T-shirts are Just Ridiculous

portal_shirts

The crazies over at ThinkGeek.com are selling these Portal-inspired t-shirts for $99 each. Here’s the list of features from the product listing:

  • Electronic shirts simulate teleportation portals from the game Portal
  • Each shirt features a wireless 5.8Ghz pinhole video camera in the front
  • Embedded TFT LCD screens in the chest area of each shirt simulate the portal
  • The camera from one shirt transmits the image wirelessly to the other, and vise versa
  • Each shirt is powered by one 2190mAh Lithium-Ion battery pack stored in the included belt-pack
  • 1.5 to 2 hours continuous run time, 4.2 hours recharge time
  • All electronics are completely removable to enable shirts to be washed
  • Wired composite video input allows you to play video games or movies on the shirt screen
  • Shirts must be purchased as a pair to work properly
  • GLaDOS Promises a coupon for free cake will be included with each shirt purchase

Free cake!? Sign me up!

Yeah right. $99 is way to expensive for a t-shirt, especially one that has a weird bulky chest that looks like you’re trying to smuggle porno mags from a convenience store. Kinda’ cool that you can hook up a gaming system and let people play stuff on your shirt, though.
