Tron: Legacy Trailer (you should probably watch this)

Shitballs this looks sick! And holy crap, Olivia Wilde with short black hair in a tight leather Tron outfit. December 15th is too damned far away!

On the plus side, 2010’s shaping up to be quite the year for movies.

Iron Man 2 Trailer Looks Pretty Badass (but you probably expected as much)

The trailer for Iron man 2 is all over the internet and you’ve probably seen it a gazillion times already, but here’s my take on it: Jokes, armor, explosions, more armor, Sam Rockwell, more armor, cool effects, Scarlett Johansson making my pants tight, and Robert Downey Jr. being awesome.

Still kinda’ bummed about what’s-his-face replacing Terrence Howard as War Machine, but I have a feeling I’ll get over it and enjoy the ride.

Scott Pilgrim Trailer!

Sorry. If you were looking for the trailer for the upcoming Scott Pilgrim movie, you won’t find it in this post. Instead, I humbly offer you this picture of a trailer with the Scott Pilgrim logo on it.

New Trailer for 'The Last Airbender' Bends Airs With Words and Acting

The superbowl spot for M. Night Shyamalan’s live action adaptation of the Nickelodeon cartoon was pretty badass, but there wasn’t much talking going on. Now we have a longer, equally badass trailer with talking and a better look at more of the actors. Check it out after the jump.

The Last Airbender Trailer Is Pretty %$#*@!ing Badass

This teaser for M. Night Shyamalan’s live action version of the popular Nickelodeon cartoon was supposed to air until the Super Bowl this weekend, but it’s here now and it’s pretty badass.

Fun Fact: a short scene for this was filmed a few minutes away from my house at one of the few landmarks in our town, The Pagoda. I tried to sneak up and get some pics, but roads were blocked from about 2 miles away and there was no way in hell my unfit blogging ass was gonna’ walk 2 miles for a few pictures.

I Think The Latest 3D Dot Game Heroes Promo Is Trying To Sell Me Penis Enhancment Pills

While checking my email, I came across a message titled Natural Sword Enhancement. I figured it was just some spam that slipped through my spam filter, but then I noticed it was from Atlus Games. Turns out, it’s just the latest promo vid for 3D Dot Game Heroes.

The Losers was an awesome comic. Now it looks like it's been turned into an awesome movie. Here's the awesome trailer.

The Losers was an awesome comic from DC’s Vertigo imprint which was loosely based on an old war comic of the same name from DC back in the 70’s. If you’ve never read Vertigo’s updated version, I highly recommend you head to your local comic shop immediately and seek out the back issues, or you can just pick up the trades from Amazon.

I won’t waste time explaining the plot since the trailer already does a fine job of that. Instead I’ll show you this bigger picture of a promo pic for The Losers all done up like one of the comic covers.

I kinda’ wonder why Aisha and Clay have traded spots in the promo, but I don’t think I mind one bit. Zoe Saldana’s curves look way better in the center than Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s would have. Mmmmm. Good Lord…

But you didn’t come for pictures and banter, did you? You probably just want to see the trailer. Well, here it is.

Tatsunoko VS. Capcom Does the Robot Chicken

Here’s the official U.S. TV spot for Tatsunoko VS. Capcom. I wonder if Seth Green’s pissed that they ganked his mojo…

From Capcom Unity:

Our ad agency had the idea to create this stop-motion short (a la Robot Chicken) to celebrate the zanyness of the game.  Since it wasn’t something that I recall any other video game publisher doing before, we jumped all over the idea.  We tried to keep it as true to the heroes’ characteristics as possible, so you’ll see some signature moves in there.   You can see the spot in HD glory on USA, SyFy, Adult Swim and more starting next Monday.

If you plan on picking up Tatsunoko vs Capcom when it drops for the Wii on January 26th, I recommend pre-ordering a copy at Game Crazy for the awesome key chain.

New Kick-Ass Trailer

The latest trailer for Kick-Ass doesn’t have any little girls dropping f-bombs and killing dudes, but it’s still awesome. Easily one of the best looking flicks of 2010. I’m just waiting for the inevitable backlash from uptight parents and Fox News.

Capcom Goes Retro with ‘Dark Void Zero’ for DSiWare

As the ‘80s were drawing to a close, the developers at Capcom began work on a top secret project that aimed to set new standards for the platformer genre. That game was called “Dark Rift”, and it blended the intense shooting action of Section Z™ with the latest innovations in platform jumping from Mega Man. In order to properly fulfill the producer’s vision for Dark Rift (later renamed Dark Void), the hardware engineering team at Capcom was enlisted to design and produce an all-new chipset that would be included in every cartridge, enabling huge numbers of sprites and never-before-seen special effects to be displayed on the aging NES® platform and the PlayChoice-10 NES arcade cabinet.

Alas, time waits for no man and game developers are no exception. The dawn of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System® made the additional hardware requirements for Dark Void redundant. Capcom suspended development on Dark Void as it began to evaluate the SNES. Before long, the game was shelved and drifted into the annals of gaming history. Even the internal tape-based archives were lost due to an unfortunate magnet incident which even today is best left un-discussed. Dark Void became a legendary “lost project” at Capcom…until now.

Nearly twenty years later the next gen version of the game, Dark Void, is back on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC! But to commemorate the game’s humble origins, Capcom has commissioned this recreation of the original 8-bit classic, now re-titled “Dark Void Zero,” on the DSi platform. You play Rusty, the first human born in the Void, who must take on the Watchers in a quest to stop their domination of Earth. With the aid of Nikola Tesla, and his state-of-the-art rocket pack, Rusty must take down the Watchers and their minions across three intense levels of action and intrigue.

I’ve gotta’ admit, when Dark Void was originally announced, I was pretty excited, but I haven’t really been keeping up with it. The announcement of an 8-bit Dark Void DSiWare game has my interest piqued once again. This is the DSiWare that I’ve been waiting for -- the type of DSiWare that should have been out with the system’s launch. Oh Capcom, so glad you’ve found that the way to a nerd’s heart is through pixels and chiptunes.

Yes, this is an actual screenshot from the game. You actually have to blow into the DSi microphone to get the game started. Freaking brilliant!

More screens after the jump. Continue reading “Capcom Goes Retro with ‘Dark Void Zero’ for DSiWare”

Tucker & Dale vs Evil

timthumb

When it comes to horror comedies, they either turn out awesome (Shaun of the Dead) or utterly pooptastic (Scary Movie). Tucker & Dale vs Evil looks like it falls under the “awesome” category.

Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Dollhouse, V) and Tyler Labine (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) star as two kind-hearted hillbillies who just want to relax and enjoy their vacation at a cabin in the woods, but some way-too-judgemental college kids who’ve obviously seen one too many slasher flicks presume that the rednecks are ruthless serial killers. Hilarity and gore ensue.

Check out the trailer:

Tucker & Dale vs Evil looks like a much-needed breath of fresh air in a genre that’s slowly become stale and full of cliches. No release date has been announced yet, so keep checking back for more info.

Thanks to Craigery for tweeting the tip!

‘The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks’ Extended Commercial

I’ve watched this extended 60-second commercial for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks 3 times in a row, and each time I found something new. As awesome as it is, it sucks that it’s gonna’ get cut down for TV.

EA’s Answer to Zelda – Shonen Kininden Tsumuji

tumblr_ktah7ikDf41qzp9weo1_400

EA Japan’s upcoming DS game, Shonen Kininden Tsumuji, is pretty much Zelda, but with ninjas. This might be a bad thing for Link and friends because, as we all know, ninjas make everything, like, a gazillion times better.

This game reminds me of that other Zelda-like game with an ancient Japanese setting and heavy use of imagery inspired by traditional Japanese paintings. You know, the one with the wolf that has a sequel coming to the DS in 2010

Geeze, with Zelda: The Spirit Tracks, Okamiden (the one with the wolf^__-), 3D Dot Heroes, and now Shonen Kininden Tsumuji, it seems like a good time for those who are fans of Zelda-esque gameplay.

Here’s a trailer for Shonen Kininden Tsumuji (Legend of the Boy Ninja Tsumuji).

Check out more on the official Japanese site.

If you wanna’ check out the Excitebike trailer, skip to the 1:00 mark because those hosts are mad annoying.
