Illustrated Celebrity Tweets

It’s about time somebody started doing this. More at the Museum of Modern Tweets.

Thanks, Andrés. Now I’m gonna’ be  thinking of chaincondom all day long.

Binary Vanity Plate Fail

All Twitter user Tamast wanted was a geeky vanity license plate with the meaning of life (which is “42″ in case you didn’t know) written in binary. Seems like a simple enough request, right? Obviously not for Maryland’s Motor Vehicle Administration.

Tamast tweets:

well, these plates don’t look like the preview! having “42″ in binary is cool. having “IOIOIO” is not. #fuck

I especially admire the inclusion of the “fuck” hashtag. It helps to further illustrate the point that tamast’s situation is less than ideal.

Awesome cover therapy given to popular web services by Stéphane Massa-Bidal. I wonder what redtube would look like…

Adrianne Curry gets stoned & nekkid, plays WoW, then TwitPics it.

original

I wasn’t gonna’ post this because every site in the galaxy is talking about it, but so many of you sent this in that I figured, “Why not?”

The story so far: Kind of attractive chick (at least when she has makeup on) wins America’s Next Top Model and marries Peter Brady from The Brady Bunch. Then she pretty much falls off the map. Until now.

Two days ago, Adrianne Curry tweeted this:

jumping into shower.going to spend my afternoon playing World Of Warcraft butt naked&stoned.Perfect Sunday!

And just in case no one believed that a once-semi-famous model would ever play video games naked, she tweeted the above pic with the following message:

me…naked…playing World Of Warcraft ; )

Notice the “winky face” which implies a tad of flirtation sprinkled with a dash of you-don’t-have-a-fucking-chance-in-Hades.

Oh, Adrianne Curry, your life would be so much better if you’d just shut up and put your vagina in my mouth.

Questions:

  • Do you think Adrianne Curry twitpic-ing semi-n00dz is a good influence to girl gamers?
  • Should more girls take n00dz while they game? (the answer is obviously YES)
  • What do you think the percentage is of hot chicks who game compared to gamer chicks who look like mooses, hill giants, and other beastly creatures?
  • How rad would it be if Adrianne Curry was all like, “hey, I read what you wrote about me on Albotas. Luv the site btw. We should meet up so I can throw my vagoo in your mouth”?

Super Amazing Japanese Thing – Live Action Street Fighter Alpha II

Okay, I know I said I wasn’t posting anything for the rest of the day, but unlike the rest of you uncaring turdbuckets, fplus actually sent me something pretty awesome via Twitter and I just couldn’t not share this with you all ASAP. He sent over a link to this awesome live action Street Fighter Alpha II thing of weirdness and joy. Way better than that Jean-Claude Van Damme garbage, right?

Twitter Takes Over Comics

forgetless1_001

Really?

The above image is the first page of Forgetless, the new series from Image Comics which drops December 9th. The story has something to do with a wannabe-model in New York who turns into an assassin, but she’s also a hipster on the side. Or something.

Here’s another page showing off a bunch of fashionable hipster kids in a dumpy apartment, sans-tweets:

And here’s the cover which appeals to the graphic design nerd in me:
forgetless1_cov
$3.50!? I remember back when comix where $1.50 – $2.00!!!

I like the art (moreso the coloring), but the only reason I’m really posting about it is because it looks like Tweetdeck barfed and/or ejaculated all over the first page.

Is this gonna’ be a new “thing” in comics? Are Facebook wall comments next?

mvc2-cover_rev3

*UPDATE: THIS CONTEST HAS ENDED. THE WINNER WAS ANNOUNCED HERE. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR PLAYING!*

The retail version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the PS3 just came out, and while it didn’t have the soundtrack, art book, or 2000 Capcom Unity points that were rumored to be included, it does come with a free month of Marvel Digital Comics ($9.99 value) and a cool case that’ll make all your gamer friends jealous. Not bad for costing just as much as the PSN version.

This retail version is limited to just 15,000 copies and I’m giving one away. There’s 4 different ways to enter giving you up to 4 chances to win.

  • Leave a comment on this post. That’s it. Simple, huh? Be sure to fill in your email address so that I can notify you if you win. (One comment counts as one entry. Only one comment counts.)
  • Tweet the following sentence: RT for a chance to win a retail copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PS3 http://bit.ly/K3UPM @albotas (One tweet counts as one entry. Only one tweet counts.)
  • Tweet the following sentence: RT for a chance to win a retail copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PS3 http://bit.ly/K3UPM @brownkidd (One tweet counts as one entry. Only one tweet counts.)
  • Leave a video comment on this post using the “Use Media” link under the comment box. (One video comment counts as TWO entries, but a regular comment won’t count if you also upload a video. Tweets will still count.)

The deadline is noon on Sunday, August 23rd. I’ll shoot a quick video of me pulling the winner’s name at random and the winner will then be contacted via Twitter or Email.

God luck!

Found on Twitter: Ferrari Guy for Hire

ferrariforhire

Wow. This exists. Rides are $300/hour for one passenger only. Groups of 2, 3, or 4 have to ride in the “TonyTag Mobile.” Seriously, that’s what it’s called.

Oh, and peep this sexy gallery of the Ferrari Guy in shirtless Ferrari action.

In-fucking-credible.

Tweet of the century

relationship_status

You know how some sites show your relationship status? They need one that says “in a relationship, but my gf’s totally down for a 3some”

What you’re looking at is the best tweet of all time by yours truly. It was so awesome that it was posted on badtofu.com. Since it was probably the most clever combination of words that I’ve ever thought up in under 140 characters, I’m glad my comedic genius hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Speaking of Twitter, why not follow Albotas, or better yet, follow me!

Found on Twitter: Social Networking Pillows

socialnetworkingpillows

While crawling through the murky depths of the Twittersphere, it’s only natural to stumble across the occasional wonderful thing of awesomeness. It happens. Today we have some lovely throw pillows from Craftsquatch to spruce up your already-nerdy living quarters. You can choose from a buttload of your favorite social networking logos, or if you’re a graphic design nerd, you can get logos for your favorite Adobe programs.

This post was made possible thanks to a tweet from Nick Camillo from ALittleBitWeird.

New Commenting System

disquscomments

So I was using IntenseDebate for the comments for a while, but I decided to switch it over to Disqus. It’s not that IntenseDebate wasn’t good, it’s just that Disqus is better. Now you can post comments anonymously, or log in via Facebook Connect, Twitter, Open ID, or or you can sign up for a free Disqus account.

Just like you could follow other IntenseDebate users, you can o the same thing on Disqus, but now you link back to a wider array of other social networks in your Disqus profile like Flickr. Why not follow me?

Oh, and you can still subscribe to the RSS feed of any post’s comment section so you can see if people are replying to you. There’s also the ability to leave video comments, but I haven’t activated it yet. Maybe in the future if there’s a demand for it.

Another cool little thing with Disqus is the fact that we get our own Disqus community page! Check out albotas.disqus.com. It’s sort of a threaded version of different posts and images from Albotas for Disqus users to comment on. I haven’t figured out all the ins and outs yet, but it seems pretty cool so far.

I know a lot of other bigger blogs like /Film use Disqus, so you’ll be able to post just about anywhere without having to create a new account. Leave a comment and let me know what you guys think. Feel free to ask any questions as well.
