Timelapse video of lifesize ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ chalk murals

Jamin Hoyle (aka “Mr. BRANWELLINGTON”) sends in this video of him making two huge Where the Wild Things Are chalk murals at the Arnold DC ad agency in Washington D.C. where he also works.

About the murals, Jamin says:

They’re eight feet tall, took over eleven hours to draw and the video uses over 1,500 stills. Beautiful results and a lot of fun to watch. Hope you dig it.

Dig it, I do! Thanks so much for sending this in, Jamin! Excellent work! You should probably wear a dust mask next time. I bet you were blowing chalk boogers for a week.

And for those wondering about the song playing in the background, it’s the indie rock anthem “Wake Up” by the legendary Arcade Fire. It’s the same song used in the TV spots for the Where the Wild Things Are movie. It’s an awesome song by a truly awesome band that I highly recommend you check out if you didn’t get around to doing so when their debut album dropped back in 2004. Seriously, get on it, you slowpokes.
