HUEY, DEWEY, AND LOUIE ROCK ICONIC STREETWEAR

Check out the duck triplets rocking Supreme, Nike, MORTE, and Givenchi. At first glance I thought these 3D illustrations by Simeon Georgiev were some sort of limited edition figure release, but sadly they’re not. Just 3D illustrations. Like with a computer. Like they’ll never be on my shelf. Sad as it is, they’re still hecka’ awesome.

The World’s First 3D Printed Skateboard
Dutch artist Samuel Abbot won a 3D printer in a contest organized by 3DPrintUK and CGTrader. He then used the printer and his trusty design skills to create this amazingly badass skateboard. Click through for more pics and a video to see how it was made.

From the designer:

It wasn’t quite as straight forward as just a print as the board is longer than our build tray, meaning that we had to cut it into 3 sections, joining it together with some connector pins to ensure accuracy and to give it some strength over a simple butt joint.

Make Your Own Art Toys with iModela
If you read Albotas, you’ve probably dreamt of making your own line of designer toys at one point or another. I know I have. But I definitely don’t have any sculpting skills. If you’ve got 3D modeling skills, you can go at it with iModela, a tiny additive printer. It fits on your desk, connects via USB, and uses inexpensive materials to print your very own toys. It costs a somewhat reasonable $1,000, but the big question for me is whether it works with third party software.

Nice try, though.
p.s.I’m sure this is fake, but I absolutely wouldn’t be surprised if it were real.

A Little Bit On The Awesome Show #17.

In this episode I take a look at some crazy glasses from American Paper Optics.

I’m also giving away one pair of 3D/X-Ray glasses to the first 12 people to comment on this video’s YouTube page. Angel pubes not included.

'The Adventures Of Tintin' Teaser Trailer.

Now THIS is how you bring back a classic franchise for a new generation. No need to bring the characters into our time by giving them crap like cell phones and silly one-liners about social networking. I just wish more reboots would stay true to the source material (I’m talking to you, Astro Boy).

The caliber of animation here is freaking bananas. Plus, the list of people involved is just insane: Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Edgar Wright, Steven Moffat (Doctor Who), and Joe Cornish (Ant-Man).

I’ll be totally surprised if this winds up being complete and utter doo-doo.

MotorStorm 3D Rift Is Either 3D Radness Or Cheap 2D Racing Thrills

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift might be getting on a bit but it’s also leading the way for Sony’s 3D gaming assault which, if you have the right kit, is pretty goddamn stunning to behold. To try and push 3D on the masses and convince those that have spent thousands of bucks on fancy TVs that they made the right choice, Sony are releasing a special pared-down edition of Pacific Rift, snappily titled MotorStorm: 3D Rift on the PlayStation Store in the US tomorrow. It features 10 tracks, an event for each circuit and a bunch of different playable vehicles from rally cars to dirtbikes.

That said, if you’ve not dipped your toe into the provisional 3D pool you can play 3D Rift on your plain old 2D TV too - and at 10 bucks, MotorStorm guarantees a heckload of fun. It might not have the split-screen or online features of the full game (which you can probably get for around 20 bucks used these days) but for a quick thrill you can’t go wrong at that sort of price.
