FINN AND JAKE MECH BY KODYKOALA

From the artist:

What time is??? It’s adventure time!!! I am a huge fan of adventure time, and I thought I would make a few customs based on the show. My first is this Jake Suit 2.0. I know in the cartoon, the original Jake suit is a beefy body suit, but I wanted to do something a little more futuristic. Jake can turn into a car, and bulldozer, so why not a mech suit.

I used a Playschool Lex Luthor Battle suit, and a McDonald’s Finn and Jake to put this together. I had to smooth out some of the details of the original Mech to make it fit more with the cartoon.

NEW ‘ADVENTURE TIME’ EPISODE DEBUTING ON DVD BEFORE IT AIRS ON CARTOON NETWORK

Check out a sneak peek at the all new Adventure Time episode, Princess Day, which will be included on the Adventure Time: Princess Day DVD dropping July 29. The actual episode will air two days later on July 31 at 7PM EST, but you know you totally want to be a cool guy/gal and watch it early so you can brag to your friends.

Watch LSP get all crazy in the preview clip above. I’m pretty sure I’d get kicked out of the Breakfast Kingdom because breakfast is my favorite food group and I’d just eat all the citizens along with their delicious-looking bacon carpets.

Check out the duck triplets rocking Supreme, Nike, MORTE, and Givenchi. At first glance I thought these 3D illustrations by Simeon Georgiev were some sort of limited edition figure release, but sadly they’re not. Just 3D illustrations. Like with a computer. Like they’ll never be on my shelf. Sad as it is, they’re still hecka’ awesome.

SOMEONE MADE A CUSTOM ADVENTURE TIME MAGIC DECK AND IT’S FLOOPIN’ AWESOME!!!
As a huge nerd for all things Adventure Time and Magic: The Gathering related, my body and soul reacted in unusually provocative ways to this deck of Magic cards altered with Adventure Time art.
As a die-hard Vorthos (look it up), there’s so much attention to detail to appreciate in these. For instance, the artwork for Ogre Battledriver normally depicts a giant beast whipping his minions to do his bidding. The Adventure Time version, on the other hand, shows Xergiok, the jerkface goblin king who was driven out of his kingdom by Finn and Jake for smacking on goblin hams like the true jerk that he is.
There’s loads of other cool stuff too like Flame Princess as Young Pyromancer, little flame dudes as red elementals, and even Finn wearing Jake like a suit for Titan’s Strength. Check out the gallery below.

And they even made this super slick playmat to keep the cards looking minty fresh. It’s an homage to the Card Wars episode.

Speaking of Card Wars, did you know Card Wars is now a real thing you can buy and play with your friends? There’s a Finn vs Jake deck and a BMO vs Lady Rainicorn. They were originally priced around $20, but on account of them being sold out everywhere and everyone wanting them because they’re awesome, expect to pay around $50 for the Finn & Jake one and almost $80 for BMO vs Lady. Craziness.

Why ‘The Angry Beavers’ Was Cancelled
As a child watching this toon of two beavers that enjoyed yelling at each other, you kind of just watch cartoons fade away and become replaced with another generation of animation and newer shows. The Angry Beavers was canned in the early 2000’s. After 62 episodes being aired on Nick, it was done. But it never had its finale because it never aired on television. And as a child you might have not known that, or the reason why Nick wouldn’t allow it to air on television.

Truth is, The Angry Beavers did have a series finale planned out. It was titled "Bye-Bye Beavers," and it involved the show’s two stars, Daggett and Norbert, breaking the fourth wall and directly mentioning that they were being cancelled. According to Micah Wright, a staffer at Angry Beavers, Nick didn’t like that very much.
Off his official website:

Norb has to break the horrible truth to Dag that they are only cartoons. Nickelodeon hated this episode because it actually told the kids the truth: that the show was ending!

There are rumors stating that Nick has a strict rule on cartoons breaking the fourth wall and telling kids that they are actually cartoons. I’m not sure how true this is, but I actually don’t ever recall a cartoon other than Ren & Stimpy (maybe?) pushing that boundary in any way. Plus, it’s one thing to tell Nick’s target demographic they’re not real. It’s another to tell kids they’re being cancelled. And it’s a whole different ballpark to literally make jabs at the network that’s presenting your cartoon.
And that’s exactly what "Bye-Bye Beavers," did — it jabbed at Nick at every which way possible. Norb and Dag are going off about being cartoons, their show getting cancelled, and Nick making so much money off of reruns without getting the show’s creators a dime. Thus, the episode never got a green-light to air, and the series was cancelled an episode short of being finished.
The audio of the script was released by Wright himself on his website. There’s also a YouTube link, for those who don’t want to download the .mp3 file. It’s a rough draft being read by voice actors Richard Steven Horvitz (Dag) and Nick Bakay (Norb), occasionally using improv between lines and calling themselves by their first names. The ending of the episode also had the two shouting “APRIL FOOLS!,” prompting people to begin rumors that this episode was meant to air as an April Fools episode, but was canned on the spot since Nick doesn’t like fourth wall jokes.
Seeing on how it never even got storyboarded in the first place, I doubt the episode will ever see the light of day. The rough audio working may have just been recorded for the Hell of it, or because they simply worked backwards on their show. Don’t know, but at least the audio has surfaced on the web somehow.

Daily Graffiti: DuckTales Edition
DuckTales was my SHITTTTT when I was a little kid. I’d wake up mad early and watch the noise while chompin’ on some Ghostbusters or Ninja Turtles cereal. Launchpad was my homeboy (I feel like that would make a sweet t-shirt slogan) and Gizmo Duck was seriously the coolest 80’s cartoon character right next to Inspector Gadget.
Anyway, this DuckTales graffiti totally reminds me that DuckTales Remastered is out and I didn’t get it yet. Gonna’ have to fix that.
