LEGO Master Creates Model Springfield

LEGO builder Matt De Lanoy has created this amazing model version of Springfield from the legendary show, The Simpsons. We can clearly see the Blocko store, Flander’s house, The Simpsons home, Moe’s Tavern, and a bunch of other Springfield residents and businesses in this awesome project Lanoy has put together. Check out his Flickr here to see the entire process of creating this city.

Fishspace: LEGOs For Fish

Created by Greg Towndrow, Fishspace is an aquarium that has the ability to attach LEGO pieces and Megablocks to the rim and bottom of its container. Not much more to it than that, but I think it’s a pretty neat idea that could look interesting, depending on your LEGO collection. Whenever those Simpsons LEGOs hit shelves, I’m definitely going to be interested in setting up a Springfield for my fish to swim through. It’s currently being funded by Kickstarter if you’d like to help support this tub.

It Took 400,000 Lego Bricks to Build Hogwarts

Alice Finch built this humongous Hogwarts replica using 400,000 Lego bricks, not just completing the outside of the school accurately, but also creating an interior to just about every room Hogwarts has to offer as well. We’re talking Snape's classroom, the Chamber of Secrets, potions lab, the Great Hall, and everything else you can think of. Photos of the entire school can be found on her Flickr.

Brothers Brick has an interview with Finch about the massive creative feat. Flip through her photos to see numerous references and characters to the beloved book/film series.

Behold the Legotron Mark I - A Large Format Camera Made from Legos
I get paranoid enough about dropping my $150 point-and-shoot, so I could never imagine lugging this thing around, but it’s pretty awesome and definitely gives new meaning to the phrase ‘toy camera.’
This was made by Cary Norton who lays out the specs:

I have no clue how many pieces are in this camera
It’s dimensions are roughly 7″x6.5″x7″
The main parts are a Main box, internal box, film holder/ground glass slot, lens board, lens.
The lens is a 127mm ƒ4.7 I got on ebay for ~40 dollars
The lensboard is two Plates deep and fits perfectly in the slot I built for it (though, I cut it down to one plate in the center to actually mount the lens).
Focus is achieved by sliding the internal box forward and backward.
The focus range is limited to roughly 3 feet to about 18 inches. It’s good for portrait, but certainly can’t focus to infinity. Mark II (once I get to that) should have a way better focusing range. I’m planning on making a pinhole lens board too.
The ground glass is just plexi, sanded with various fine grits. It’s held in place by a film holder that previously had light leaks, but now has the aluminum center cut out. The fit is tight and I ran a line of liquid nails too, just in case.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, In LEGO Form!
Flickr user mcgregor.harry made a LEGO set based on the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption. Since LEGO’s been on a game-churning kick these past few years, I’m thinking they should just hop on the zombie bandwagon already. Maybe even team up with Rockstar for some extra freshness. A dude can dream…
