Mattel Reveals 1966 “Batman” Ken/Barbie Dolls

This is really cool, even if they are Ken and Barbie dolls. Mattel revealed these new photos of an upcoming toy release by the company, influenced by the old 1966 Batman television series, starring Adam West as Batman and Lee Meriwether as Catwoman. The dolls can be preordered at Barbie Collector for $35 a pop. The two dolls are shipping this June.

A Little Bit On The Power Glove Side: Man, the Power Glove was freaking complicated. Just check out this official Mattel Power Glove training video that shows how ridiculous it was to something as simple as navigate a game’s menu. So many button combinations! And did anyone else feel like they were watching a recruitment video for a religious cult when they started talking about The Steps of Power?

BTW, who else super thirsty for Hi-C after watching that?

[Thanks to Aaron for sending this our way! You’re so bad!]

A Little Bit On The Back to the Future Side: Check out the making of Mattel’s Back to the Future hoverboard prop replica. Seriously debating dropping $120 for one of these.

Thanks to Jaxx for the tip!

For the Ladies: tokidoki x Barbie
You know I had to study Barbie in college? No Lie! Anyway, tokidoki have teamed up with Mattel to create a limited edition Barbie, sporting tokidoki clothing. She even comes complete with her own Bastardino.
The doll, along with some limited tokidoki x Barbie clothes will be available on Saturday. Be one of the first 150 customers at the launch celebration to meet tokidoki creative director and co-founder Simone Legno at the Santa Monica store.

It’s a (Ghost Busters) Trap!
As a kid, all I ever wanted was a proton pack and a ghost trap. Now I can get a replica of the latter when it’s released in October by Mattel. Unfortunately for me, Mattel had to go and cross the streams by announcing an expected price tag of $120.

ManOfAction7666 returns with this diorama of DC’s most notable eccentric conspiracy theorist. The Question comes from Mattel’s DC Universe Classics line, so keep in mind that the incredible level of detail in this picture is done at a 6-inch scale.
