U.S Release Trailer for New Studio Ghibli Film
Studio Ghibli is undoubtedly one of the best anime studios of all time. Ghibli has put out some of the best animated films at a consistent rate. They are back with their follow up to last year’s well received Secret World of Arrietty.  From Up On Poppy Hill is the story of a girl dealing with the loss of her father while the 1964 Tokyo Olympics’ construction crew threatens their school house. Directed by Goro Miyazaki (Tales From Earthsea) and written by Hayao Miyazaki.

Localized Ni no Kuni Delayed to 2013

Bad news, Ghibli fans. The English-language version of Level-5’s and Studio Ghibli’s Ni no Kuni has been delayed until sometime next year. You can’t complain too much though. The fact that this game is even getting a localization is a miracle. And as a consolation, you get an awesome trailer.

A Little Bit on the Ocarina Side: Sometimes at night, if you listen real hard, you can hear Totoro playing his ocarina from atop a tree. Here’s an extended range ocarina with a Totoro logo and even a tiny sculpt of the fluffy troll thing himself. One is on eBay right now for $215.

Studio Ghibli Blu-Rays Are Classy

Ah, silhouettes on a solid background. I’m still not sick of this style and it works really well with these Studio Ghibli Blu-Rays, which will be available on Wednesday. Now the bad news: They’re only available in Japan and Hong Kong, plus they’re ringing in at about $85 each. Wow.

Ni no Kuni Set for 2012 Release IN THE US!
I am so happy right now. You don’t even know. According to Gamespot, Ni no Kuni - the Level-5 / Studio Ghibli RPG - is going to be released in North America in early 2012. This only applies to the PS3 version of the game so far. There has been no word on whether the DS version of the game will also be localized. I supposed it could depend on how well the PS3 version does over here.
Note: Hey Europeans, don’t be sad. The PS3 is region free. If the game doesn’t come out over there, you can just import it from the US.

Ni no Kuni for PS3 Gets Dated
The DS version of Studio Ghibli / Level-5’s cel-shaded RPG came out a while ago. Since then there hasn’t been much talk of the promised PS3 version. According to Andriasang.com, this week’s issue of Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, have revealed that the game will be released on November 17.
It’s awesome news that the PS3 version is finally coming out. But there’s still been no word on whether the game will get an English translation.

Found this dope ass Ponyo pendant today on Etsy. If I were a girl, I’d rock the fuck out of this.

E3 2011: Loose Ends

E3 2011 has come and gone, but I’ve still got some questions burning in my mind. A few games I was expecting to see revealed never showed up. And Nintendo’s Wii U reveal was super vague. The usual satisfied feeling we get once E3 is over for the year has been replaced with the feeling of a joke without a punchline. Hit the jump to see what’s got me scratching my head.

Don’t Watch Totoro While on LSD
He kind of reminds me of The Mothman if The Mothman put on some girth.

The only thing better than seeing Catbus drive by me would having Totoro himself walk up to me at the bus stop.
