FINN AND JAKE MECH BY KODYKOALA

From the artist:

What time is??? It’s adventure time!!! I am a huge fan of adventure time, and I thought I would make a few customs based on the show. My first is this Jake Suit 2.0. I know in the cartoon, the original Jake suit is a beefy body suit, but I wanted to do something a little more futuristic. Jake can turn into a car, and bulldozer, so why not a mech suit.

I used a Playschool Lex Luthor Battle suit, and a McDonald’s Finn and Jake to put this together. I had to smooth out some of the details of the original Mech to make it fit more with the cartoon.

IF THIS PROSTHETIC ROBOT ARM WERE REAL, I’D CUT MY ARM OFF JUST TO GET ONE

Check out this 3D rendering by digital artist Cristiano Rinaldi. This is some Deus Ex meets Skynet type shit. Luke Skywalker, Annakin Skywalker, Jaime Lannister, Finn from Adventure Time — just image how kick-ass those guys would look rocking one of these bad boys!!!

It totally reminds me of these robot things from Remember Me.

KICKSTART THIS SHIZZ: BAROBOT - THE OPEN SOURCE COCKTAIL MIXING ROBOT

Here’s an awesome Kickstarter projected that combines two of my favorite things: technology and alcohol!

From the Barobot Kickstarter page:

Barobot is an open source device that pours cocktails by mixing alcohol, soft drinks and sodas. It holds up to 12 bottles and can pour a drink with military accuracy!

Barobot features over 1000 cocktail recipes or gives you the option to create your own on the fly. All can be easily accessed via our custom made application on your touchscreen or the user friendly interface on your Smartphone.

Barobots frame - made of either deep black or transparent acrylic glass, comes in either a self assembly kit or an assembled ‘plug and pour’ version. The flat-pack self assembly kit requires no advanced skills or tools (it’s great fun to put together by itself!). Barobot is also illuminated with over 100 individually controlled LEDs that might be set to a number of light-themes or even synchronized to music!

This needs to get funded so I can get one and give it a cool butler/bartender name like Bertram or Reginald.

NEW ‘TRANSFORMERS 4: AGE OF EXTINCTION’ TRAILER

Say what you will about Michael Bay’s take on the Transformers franchise, but the dude knows how to pack a buttload of excitement into his action scenes (or at least trick you into thinking they’re exciting by using super quick cuts that put your heart rate up). And besides, Optimus Prime wielding a giant sword and riding Grimlock through a city? I double dog dare you not to want to see that on a giant screen.

Little Robot Sees Himself for the First Time
Technology is an exciting thing. Advancements are being made daily to bring about that futuristic world that many of us are looking forward to. However, these advancements will probably come in the form of intelligent AI rather than flying cars.

QBO, from Thecorpora Robotic Corporation, is an open source project which seeks to advance the field of AI. These little robots are pretty advanced. You can read up more on the blog which is fascinating.
QBO seems to be able to learn images and match them. While this technology has been around for a few years, it is great to see it being implemented like this.
The future looks bright.

An Obsessed Mech: “Mechanical Creep” Short Film
There is no surprise that I have a love for Mech-inspired media. I love Gundam, I can’t wait for Eva 3.0 and Pacific Rim, and I’m even planning a short film involving a robot.
Darren Wallace manages to achieve a sweet tone while still creating a compelling and believable mech design. The project also involved the skilled artists Matt Parsons and Rebecca Knight.

I absolutely love this short. It is a beautiful piece that remains engaging and leaves you with a smile. The piece was created using Autodesk Maya, Zbrush, Nuke, Vray, and After Effects.
