AWESOME Street Fighter III Fan Film Trailer

Artist Victor Hugo Queiroz has created this amazingly awesome Street Fighter fan film called Street Fighter III - Fuurinkazan. Up top is a trailer for what he’s been working on for the last couple of years, which shows Ryu fighting Hugo, with a special guest appearance at the end of the footage. Super awesome footage.

A Little Bit On The Pixelated Side: 8-bit Riot by Justin Ray. Click the pics for a full view.

This self-directed project was a response to the 2011 Stanley Cup Riot in Vancouver. I remember listening to the radio coverage of the original riot in Vancouver in 1994. I attempted to mash up that disconnected nostalgia with images from the 2011 riot.

A Little Bit On The Street Fighter’s Wrath Side:Here’s a screenshot of Asura from Asura’s Wrath in Street Fighter. And check out how his COMBO gauge has been turned into a BURST gauge. No word on when we’ll be able to play as the demigod, but Capcom promises more details soon.

Custom Street Fighter Chucks

(I couldn’t decide on whether to use a Spinning Bird Kick or Hurricane Kick joke in the title, so I opted for neither.)

These were made by Maya Pixelskaya using who-knows-what kind of method. ::checks notes:: Hot damn! These were handpainted!!! They look super slick and ultra professional. See how I used the words super and ultra since it’s a Street Fighter post? Sometimes I feel bad that not everyone can be this rad.

Stop Motion Ryu vs. Ken

John Huang's latest animated short takes things back to basics with a Street Fighter battle between Ryu and Ken. And as always, the preview for his next short leaves me counting down the days until it appears. You can see the behind the scenes process HERE.

X-Men vs. Street Fighter: First Clash
Pe-u's latest series takes it back to X-Men vs. Street Fighter. While the Street Fighter characters in the game were of the younger, Alpha-era designs, the X-Men’s designs were more contemporary. Pe-u remedies that by using Storm and Cyclops’s classic Cockrum/Byrne-era costumes.

The World Warrior
Even though he’s no longer working at Capcom, Akiman can still draw a mean Street Fighter II shot, like this of the original 12 characters.

Custom Ryu Super Famicom by Oskunk. This dude constantly inspires me to dig up my old consoles and trick them out, but I’m way too lazy for all that noise.

Holy Shit! Check Out Evil Ryu vs Oni in SSFIV.

This shit is absurd. Here’s some footage of an arcade battle between the new Super Street Fighter IV characters Evil Ryu and Oni. Evil Ryu looks badass enough with the gaping wound in his chest, but Oni is like Shin Akuma on steroids. He has an air dash, he slashes through enemies as he teleports across the screen, and his fireballs electrocute fools Blanka style.

Here’s another vid showing off Oni’s air version of the Raging Demon which is, needless to say, fucking awesome:
