Taito Announces X3 Board
Taito have been dominating the arcades [all two of them] for the past several years with their Type X boards and Viewlix cabs. The company just announced at TGS that they will be releasing the third in the main series of X boards, the X3. There are no details, other than a photo, which shows a machine that looks very similar to the X2. The X2 has a door on top that would swing open, revealing a slot for a SATA hard drive. The games are stored on 3.5” drives and a security key is stored on a USB drive, kind of like the security keys from most NAOMI games. It looks like the X3 will use the same format, but will almost definitely run on top of Win7 rather than XP.
