Famitsu Gives Dragon’s Crown 35/40
Dragon’s Crown has launched in Japan and the reviews are so far positive. Famitsu’s four reviewers gave the game three 9s and one 8, totaling 35 out of 40 possible points. This is the only games I’ve been looking forward to, so I’m relieved that it’s getting good reviews. Pre-order it here.

'POKÉMON’ X ‘PERSONA’ NEEDS TO BE A THING
Earlier this week Nintendo announced that they’re working on a Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem crossover game for WiiU. This got me thinking: could you imagine a Pokemon X Persona game? IMAGINE IT, DAMMIT!!!
They’re practically made for each other! They both involve collecting monsters and making them evolve as you use them to fight other monsters, monsters are weak and resistant to certain types of attacks, and both games have elements of youth angst. Make it happen, Nintendo and Atlus. Make it happen.
Real talk: I had to take a break from Persona 3 FES a few months back because my Vita charger broke, but now I’m back into it and slowly discovering that it’s one of the top 5 games I’ve ever played in my life. Mad addicting, for reals.
I’m at a point where I care less about saving the world from Shadows or whatever and more about making Yuko my gf. We totally held hands yesterday and I made her blush. Chick’s fuggin’ adorable.
Why can’t there be more handheld games that let you date cute anime schoolgirls. And why was it impossible to type that last sentence without feeling like a total creep? Don’t judge me!

Code of Princess Co-Op Gameplay Video

The main reason I haven’t bought a 3DS is because there’s only one game I want to play on it - Super Mario 3DS Land. But I can add another to that shortlist when Code of Princess comes out. Check out the co-op gameplay footage. This should hold hack ‘n slash fans over until Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown comes out. That is still coming out, right?

Shin Megami Tensei IV 4 the IIIDS
See what I did there? Atlus have announced that they’ve begun working on the next numerical installment of their SMT series. The previous numbered MegaTen game was Nocture, one of the best RPGs games for the PS2. It was re-printed a few years ago by a company that insists on lowering my game collection’s value, so if you’ve never played Nocturne, do it now. It’s like Pokémon on bath salts.

A Little Bit On The Persona 4 Arena Side: Persona 4 Arena pits fighters from the Persona series (and their Personas, of course) against each other in 4-button, air-launching, combo assaults. We may have to wait until summer for the game’s release, but Atlus is made up of a bunch of righteous dudes who are releasing tutorial vids to prep your brain-pieces and thumb muscles for the awesomeness that is to come.

Soul Hackers Gets a 3DS Remake
Atlus like to do remakes for portables. Persona, Persona 2, and Persona 3 have all been remade or ported to the PSP. Now Soul Hackers is getting a remake for the 3DS. Hopefully this also gets an English version since the original (which came out for Saturn and PS1) never got localized.

Dragon’s Crown Publishing Transferred to Atlus
Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown was to be published by Ignition (King of Fighters XII, El Shaddai). However, Atlus have announced that they will now be handling the release. There’s still some confusion as to whether Atlus will be collaborating in the game’s production or if they are only handling the publishing. Hopefully this doesn’t allude to Vanillaware having trouble developing the game, because it looks frickin’ awesome.

Atlus “ReVITAlizes” PSN by Slashing Prices Off Their PSP Games.

Been waiting for your chance to jump into the Persona series? Have a shiny new Vita, but lack the cash to throw down for all those Atlus RPG’s you want? Well, now’s your chance because classic Atlus titles are mad cheap for a limited time.

The discounted titles are as follows:

  • Persona - $19.99 (was $39.99)
  • Persona 2: Innocent Sin - $29.99 (was $39.99)
  • Persona 3 Portable - $19.99 (was $39.99)
  • Riviera: The Promised Land - $9.99 (was $14.99)
  • Yggdra Union - $9.99 (was $14.99)
  • Knights In The Nightmare - $14.99 (was $29.99)
  • Hexyz Force - $14.99 (was $29.99)
  • Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble - $14.99 (was $39.99)
  • Crimson Gem Saga - $14.99 (was $29.99)
  • Class of Heroes - $14.99 (was $39.99)

50% off Persona 3 Portable? I believe I speak on behalf of gamers everywhere when I say HOLY SHIT THANK YOU, ATLUS!!! Seriously, these deals are awesome. Hopefully more publishers follow Atlus’ lead and discount some PSP titles that new Vita owners might not have had the chance to play.

Tekkaman Blade and Jack Frost Figmas Announced

Good Smile have been stepping it up with their Figma line recently: Miku, Black Rock Shooter, Samus, and now Tekkaman Blade and Jack Frost. Both will be out in June. It’s a bummer these have gotten pretty expensive. I’d pick up Samus and Tekkaman but $65 each is steep.

A Little Bit on the Roketetsu Side: The four day location test [(AKA loc-test) AKA public in-person beta test] of the Persona fighting game started today in Japan. Famitsu reports that all ten characters were unlocked to be played and that there was quite a crowd waiting to get their hands on the game. We’ll have to wait another year to maybe play a console port.

King of Fighters XIII is looking infinitely better than XII. I wonder if Ignition, who published XII, are kicking themselves for letting this one go to Atlus. Don’t forget to pre-order the game if you want the bonus: four CDs of music from KoF. What may be the final KoF is out on November 22 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
