A Little Bit on Sekure D
Sekure D was awesome enough to shoot a video with Albotas and talk about his custom sneakers and vinyl toys. We talk about how he got into painting his own sneakers, the process of customizing, the vinyl toy world, and a whole lot more. Check out the video below, and don’t forget to hit the Like button and subscribe!
Sekure D’s Robot Army Invades Boston
Sekure D dropped by to do an interview with Albotas about sneakers, designer toys, and customizing. We’ll have that for you soon, but in the meantime, take a look at the drawing he did on the walls of my office building.
These Light-Up Custom X-Men Nike Zooms Are BEAST!
Sole Swap and Rebel Aire teamed up on this pair of Nike Zoom Rookie “Beast” Custom sneakers and holy freaking crap! They kind of remind us of the limited edition Ghost in the Shell Tachikoma Reebok Pump Furys from a while back, mixed with those sweet light-up suits they wear in those crazy Gantz movies.
Peep it: More custom sneakers
Jacob Patterson just sent us pics of his latest custom kicks which took him over an entire year to complete. Be sure to click each image for the full sexy view.
From the artist:
The tongues feature jailbroken iPod Touches that have been given sounds, themes, apps, music, and related materials to fit the Fallout universe. Originally I had planned to sculpt or paint the tongues out to look like the actual Pip-Boy device, but it was too noisy. Instead, I trusted the Pip-Boy theme to do the job, and it does in a much more subtle way. On the sides are painted a soldier in Power Armor from Fallout 3 and a Ranger from New Vegas.
My feet are a little sad that they’ll never get to wear these, but on the other hand, if I had a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes this awesome, I really don’t think I’d ever wear them. They’d just sit up on a shelf in my living room to make visitors envious.
Read the full story on how these were made over on the Custom Sneaker Forum.
Speaking of the Dark Side, we’re hoping Mr. Patterson does a pair of custom Sith kicks. Or maybe a pair devoted to the most heinous evil of all evils in the Star Wars universe: Gungans.
Custom Street Fighter Chucks
(I couldn’t decide on whether to use a Spinning Bird Kick or Hurricane Kick joke in the title, so I opted for neither.)
These were made by Maya Pixelskaya using who-knows-what kind of method. ::checks notes:: Hot damn! These were handpainted!!! They look super slick and ultra professional. See how I used the words super and ultra since it’s a Street Fighter post? Sometimes I feel bad that not everyone can be this rad.
