DBZ & BLACK BUTLER POP! VINYL FIGURES COMING LATER THIS YEAR

Funko will be releasing a set of Dragon Ball Z POP! Vinyl figures featuring Super Saiyan Goku, Final Form Cell, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Final Form Freiza this August.

The Black Butler set drops in July and will be a Hot Topic exclusive until November. The set features Grell, Sebastian, Undertaker, and Ciel.

Yeah… totally getting that Vegeta. His tiny little scouter is too freaking adorable to resist.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY MYSTERY BOBBLEHEADS FROM FUNKO
Starting in June you’ll be able to pick up these blindboxed 2.5” GotG bobbleheads featuring your favorite band of space outlaws and their not-so-nice friends. I’m not usually a fan of bobleheads, but I have some of the other Marvel Funko stuff and it’s actually pretty awesome. And look how freaking cool Groot looks!!! Yeah, I’ll definitely be picking a few of these little guys up.

KICKSTART THIS SHIZZ: EXPRESSALÓ

What do you get when you mix the adorableness of designer toys with the sentimentality of a greeting card? You get Expressaló! Each Expressaló represents a unique message ranging from “Happy Birthday!” to “I’m sorry.” The project is currently live on Kickstarter where it’s surpassed its $20,000 goal, but if the stretch goal is reached, more character designs will be produced and every single backer will receive one for free.

More info on the Kickstarter page.

GRANPA McGRIZZLED CUSTOM DUNNY BY HUCK GEE

The latest addition to his World War Gee line of custom designer toys, Huck Gee will be putting this one-of-a-kind figure up for sale over at huckgee.com for 24 hours only on May 21 at 1pm PDT. He comes with some cool extras like a bloody chainsaw, a shotgun, and I’m loving the severed zombie arm on his ear. The price is set at $575 with an expected turnaround time of 6-8 weeks.

LEMONDROP 3-INCH DUNNY FROM KIDROBOT AND ANDREW BELL

Andrew Bell takes lends his signature style to the Dunny platform with Lemondrop, the latest 3” Dunny from Kidrobot set to release on May 22, 2014 for $14.99. This is one of the coolest Dunny designs I’ve seen in a while. Kind of a shame that it’s not an 8-inch though.

And speaking of Dunnys, Kidrobot recently revealed a sneak peek at the upcoming Dunny 2014 series. I’m interested in that upside down looking dude silhouetted the bottom. What do you think?

CUSTOM WOLVERINE CELSIUS FIGURES FROM ROTOBOX
The gang over at Rotobox does what they do best in the way of yet another fantastic set of custom figures. There’s Logan in his classic X-Men suit as well as his yellow and brown threads from the 80’s. These are quite possibly my favorite pieces they’ve done to date.
If you’d like to own one of these customized figures for yourself, shoot an email over to info@rotoboxvinylanatomica.com.

THE FOUNDER OF KIDROBOT IS STARTING A SOCIAL NETWORK
File this under: WHAAAT!?!?
We’ve been covering Kidrobot and the designer toy scene here on Albotas for several years now, so Paul Budnitz is a name our readers are likely quite familiar with. A few years ago, he founded Kidrobot in 2002, then Budnitz Bicycles a few years later, and now he’s starting yet another venture: an all new social networked called Ello.

It seems he doesn’t appreciate the way Facebook collects data and sells it to advertisers. Here’s the company’s manifesto taken from their site:

Your social network is owned by advertisers.
Every post you share, every friend you make and every link you follow is tracked, recorded and converted into data. Advertisers buy your data so they can show you more ads. You are the product that’s bought and sold.
We believe there is a better way. We believe in audacity. We believe in beauty, simplicity and transparency. We believe that the people who make things and the people who use them should be in partnership.
We believe a social network can be a tool for empowerment. Not a tool to deceive, coerce and manipulate — but a place to connect, create and celebrate life.
You are not a product.

Read more about Ello on the official site where you can’t sign up yet, but you can request an early invite.
Idunno, guys. I mean, if Myspace can’t even make a comeback is there really room left on the Internet (and in our lives) for another social network? Maybe we should all just go back to Xanga.
