Adventure Time With Ren and Stimpy
Check out this epic crossover sketch by Richard Page. I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen these two cartoons mashed up sooner considering how ridonkulously perfect they are together.
Speaking of Adventure Time, have you dudes seen the upcoming Adventure Time Encyclopedia yet? Looks hecka’ gnarly. Pre-orders are up on Amazon if you’re into such awesomeness.

These phenomenal 3D illustrations were drawn by 22-year-old artist, Nagai Hideyuki. Hideyuki uses multiple 2D surfaces to emphasize the third dimension to its viewer in its fullest effect. These sketches are absolutely incredible.

A Little Bit on the Sketchy Side: Brian Joseph Davis has had the ingenious idea of having police composite sketching software draft up literary characters. Check out a sketch of Hiro Protagonist from Neil Stephenson’s Snow Crash.
I like being able to see if a character’s composite sketch looks anything like I imagined. It’s also cool to see how closely movie adaptations came to recreating a character. Davis takes requests, so send him a passage describing your favorite character if you want to see him or her drawn out like a person of interest.

Draw Your Favorite Pokemon Day!
In honor of the US release of Pokemon Red and Blue on September 30, 1998 we’ve declared it the official Draw Your Favorite Pokemon Day. We’ve set up a Facebook event page for it where we’ll be posting anything that’s created to celebrate DYFP-Day. If you don’t want to join the event page, just make a post on Tumblr or Twitter that day with the tag #FavoritePokemonDay and we’ll make a massive post that day with some of our favorite ones, or maybe we’ll even make a separate Tumblr just for posting those. Whatever we end up doing, we’ll figure it out by then. Thanks guys!
