King of Games “Ultimate Machine” Reprints

Two of the King of Games’ coolest t-shirt designs are getting reprinted. This series of shirts depicts Nintendo’s classic consoles, diagramed in all their glory. The Famicom and Super Famicom designs are getting the rerun treatment, while the Game Boy design is still OOP. Lucky for me, I grabbed a Game Boy longsleeve back when Nintendo World still carried KOG gear. First hand experience: These shirts are pure class.

If you’re willing to throw down some serious money for these shirts, they go on sale tomorrow at 9AM Eastern. One shirt will cost you about $65 after shipping. Get ‘em here.

FAMICOM SOFTWARE FOR THE MODERN AGE

Morgan Conley's Famicom Software Project explores what it would be like if the Nintendo Famicom was an actual personal computer system that required different cartridges for visiting websites and using programs. Check out the video below to see what PhotoShop would look like as an 8-bit Nintendo program.

Nintendo Family BASIC Guide Book
Back in the day, Nintendo released a game dev kit specifically for consumers. Famicom owners could program their own games by slapping in a special cart and plugging in a humungous keyboard and tape deck (for saving the games). This above book cover might be the best thing to come of it though. Someone build me a Famicom space ship.

A Little Bit On The Epic Gaming Room Side: This perfect gamer cave belongs to 16bitghost. Dude basically owns every console which makes his life pretty much 100% more fulfilling than yours.

Random Purchase of the Month: This month I randomly purchased a double-sided Nintendo poster. One side features Disk-Kun, the mascot of the Famicom Disk System. On the opposite is an ad for Volleyball, a 1986 Disk System Game. It was just $10 and another $5 for the frame. Disk-Kun is the man, just in case you didn’t know.

A Little Bit On The Metroid Side:  OSKUNK made this shweet custom Metroid Super Famicom. It’s okay if it gives you a boner and/or makes your panties wet. It’s totally natural.

New King of Games Shirt: Wrecking Crew

King of Games recently started releasing new t-shirts. Here’s their newest creation based on Wrecking Crew. It’s pretty cool, but is it $90 cool? That’s how much it costs after shipping from Japan to the US. Yikes. That’s like a wrecking ball right to the, uh, balls.

Custom Zelda Super Famicom and Sonic Genesis Consoles by Ricepuppet
Ricepuppet aka Bleeding Violin customizes new and retro consoles that you can order on commission. While he has plenty of customs under his belt, this Zelda themed Super Famicom and Sonic themed Sega Genesis are by far my faves.

Super Famicom Cart Storage
I can’t find those dish drying racks and I’d rather not drill holes in my wall anyway. So this Super Famicom storage unit would be really cool to own. SFC carts are special pain in the ass because they can’t be stacked on top of one another. That means they’re hard to pack into a small space and it’s impossible to know which cart you’re going to pull out unless you’ve memorized which games are where.

Gold Famicom Disks Are High Class
I don’t usually like stuff that’s gold-colored, but these super-rare Famicom Disk System games look amazing. And they’ve probably got a price to match. Only an estimated 10,000 were made and a similar disk is going for $600 on eBay. They were sent out at random to some of the people who attended the Famicom Golf Tournament. I guess you didn’t even have to win to get an awesome prize. Sweet.
