Anamanaguchi Playing Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Monday, June 17
Chiptune darlings Anamanaguchi will inch the chip music scene a bit closer to the mainstream radar when they bring their 8-bit-infused rock and roll sounds to the Late Night stage. Set your DVRs.
I first heard of these guys maybe six or seven years ago and it’s insane to see how far they’ve come. After lending their sounds to a few video game soundtracks, playing PAX a few years back, and then having Disney steal one of their songs for a mobile game, it’s awesome to watch these dudes get bigger and better year after year.

Pics & Video From the New Leaf Launch at Nintendo World NY

Oh man! So me and my special lady took the 5am bus from Reading, PA to New York City this past Saturday for the Animal Crossing New Leaf launch event and holy geeze was is fun! There were games to play sweet pins to collect, and StreetPasses aplenty. They even had a tiny replica diorama of an Animal Crossing town!

Check out the swankily edited video below for a better look at what you missed if you couldn’t make it out to NY over the weekend.

This Digital RPG Puts You In The Role of Players Playing a Tabletop RPG

Knights of Pen &Paper +1 Edition might actually be the most meta game ever created. You play as a regular group of people playing a D&D-esque pen and paper RPG - you even get to play as the Game Master and design the actual encounters!

This new +1 Edition is an update of the mobile version with brand new features such as a tavern, more dungeon locations, and a plethora of new unhealthy snacks for the in-game players. The game drops for PC and Mac on June 18th. Pre-orders are open at buy.knightsofpenandpaper.com, but if you can’t wait until then you should totally download the mobile version, and then get the +1 Edition.

This ‘Avengers’ Playroom Concept Is Glorious

Although this concept room by [Q]ATRO Design meant as a room for kids, I’m sure a good deal of adults wouldn’t mind having a room like this in their home. All it needs it a decent couch, a mini fridge, some consoles, and possibly even Scarlet Johansson in her Black Widow outfit and I’d never, ever leave.

Okay, so actually it’s Blackest Night Batman, but Zombie Batman just has a way cooler ring to it. No pun intended.

The Time Lords of Wizard World Philadelphia

I’ve been going to Wizard World Philly every year for the past seven years or so and this year was by far the most that I’ve ever seen so much Doctor Who cosplay. Clearly a testament how much the show’s fanbase has grown over the years.

I’m sure their hearts were collectively shattered as Matt Smith announced over the weekend that he’d be leaving the series. I know mine sure was.

D20 T-shirts from Super Orange

Seeing as how my life has been consumed by Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons as of late, these appeal to me on a pretty intense level. Pick one up from Super Orange’s Etsy page starting at just $14.

20 Minutes of Video Game References In Movies

Travis Greenwood and Brett Roberts compiled this supercut for Slacktory featuring almost any video game reference from a movie that you could ever imagine.

This Video Game Store’s Sign Is A Giant Neon Nintendo Cartridge!

Coolest light-up storefront sign ever? We think so. This sign can be seen atop 8BIT Video Games, a retro video game shop in Shillington, Pennsylvania specializing in classic games for NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, and more. Their official grand opening is tomorrow, Saturday March, 16, at noon.

Unlike more tradition (i.e. corporate) video game retailers, this store is owned and operated by actual fans.

We actually did a video interview back in the day with one of the owners, Paul, back in the day when he ran a little shop called Level Up Games and let us host our own Pokémon Fight Club.

Terrible video production quality and oldschool aspect ratio FTW!!!

He’s essentially a gamer who amassed such a huge collection that he just eventually decided to turn it into a store. Living the dream!!!

If you live in the Reading/Shillington/Wyomissing area or feel like making the hour-long trek from Philly, you’ll definitely want to check this place out!
