Man Beats Ocarina of Time in Less Than 20 Minutes

Wow. Just a couple of days ago, a record was set for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time being beat in 19 minutes and 20 seconds. Then speed-runner Cosmo Wright came around within those last couple of days and beat that record by seconds, meaning he beat Ocarina of Time in 19 minutes and 15 seconds.

Wright has been noted to play Ocarina of Time on and off every now and then, but has only recently trained to beat the world record speed. The version in this video is slightly faster than what we’re all used to, but it’s not cheating — he explains all the technical junk here on his blog. Crazy stuff!

How About a Wind Waker Demake?
I know that this would never happen, but I’d much rather have a Wind Waker demake instead of the recently announced HD upgrade. A reimagined Wind Waker with SNES-style sprites and scaling would be pretty cool. And navigating the ocean using Mode 7 would be amazing (think Final Fantasy VI’s airship gameplay). I wouldn’t say Nintendo are averse to taking risks, but they’d never do something like this. And they’d probably squash any homebrew that popped up. Oh well.

New Hyrule Historia Cover Is Pure Class
Hey, listen! The book detailing the history of The Legend of Zelda just got a new and improved cover. I was able to flip through the Japanese version, and while I wasn’t super impressed, I’ll definitely be picking up the English version. The book more heavily covered the recent games and only had a few pages dedicated to the pre-N64 titles. I’d love to play a magic ocarina to travel back to 1985 and ‘86 while the original game was being developed, but since that’s probably not going to happen, I’ll settle for the few pages of insight this book provides.

The Legend of the Hyrulian Corgi
Halloween is coming up. I’ve used the hot dog and lobster costumes on my corgi, Yoshi, several times each now. This Link tunic will do quite well. This little guy even comes with a fleshy sword.

Custom Korok from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
This super cute Korok custom was up for auction at the Vinyl Thoughts 3 art show in Texas last month. I don’t know who the artist is, unfortunately. To be honest, I can’t even tell if this is some modified platform or if it was sculpted from scratch. I do know that it’s pretty awesome, though.

Samus and Link Figmas up for Pre-order at Entertainment Earth

I totally missed out on the first wave of the Samus Figma. Luckily I won’t have to pay $100 on eBay for one. Entertainment Earth has them up for pre-order, as well as the Skyward Sword Link figure. They both ship out in January.

Wheat Warrior - Kid Bakes Master Sword Using Bread

Tumblr user spacekat267 recently posted these photos of his latest invention in baking, a Master Sword made out of bread. The young baker randomly created this as his job and decided to share with all of the Internet, because he knows we like this sort of odd shit. We do, so thanks spacekat267.

Take a look at the categories offered by Dropbox’s Help Center. Notice anything Hyrulian? Apparently they’re fans of The Legend of Zelda.
Thanks, Jon

Rock of Legend of Zelda
Last year, sheet music publisher, Alfred, released a songbook full of Super Mario songs for guitar and piano. They’ve recently released a 64-page Legend of Zelda compilation featuring tracks from the original game all the way up to Spirit Tracks. I have the Mario guitar book, which is pretty good. The only drawback is that several of the songs are transposed to a non-original key. (I’m assuming if you get the piano versions, they will be written out in the original key.)

A Little Bit on the Zelda Model Side: A good part of my teenage years was spent building Gundam models (this one being my favorite). But if I had this kit of Legend of Zelda models, I’d toss those giant robots aside. They look pretty simple - just a few pieces to snap together and a few coats of paint. But c’mon. It’s Zelda.

A Little Bit on the Triforce Cutting Board Side: I enjoy cutting things. With a knife. I’m way too hardcore to use a cutting board, but for the sake of argument, if I were to buy one, it would probably be this one with a Triforce in it. It would give me the courage, power, and wisdom to cut, chop, and dice like no other.
